Re: What happened to the immigration thread?
Why can't we be as level-headed as Canada? Trudeau explained the situation in about 6 minutes. Canada isn't saying no to all the people picking food (that we need) nor building the houses (that we need). Way to go Canadians for understanding basics.

Re: Chiefs 2024
I think this is where I make my entrance.
I am okay with the Chiefs winning this game if the Bills win the next matchup. Okay?

Re: America Failed
We have lost the truth. Social media (which can literally be any one of us) rules. There are zero controls on campaign financing, and businesses/lobbies own nearly all the federal politicians. The Supreme Court lies and cheats and has been bought (what a shame), and doesn't turnover until someone ...

Re: America Failed
I am hearing the Harris campaign would have been great if it had been 2004. That sounds like a good assessment. Overall, the Democrats are too nice. Biden played nice. Instead, he should have relentlessly attacked trumpers from day 1, though to Democrats, that would have seemed like no decorum and ...

Re: America Failed
Nearly a month ago, Kamala Harris appeared on ABC's The View in what was expected to be a friendly interview aimed at pitching herself to Americans who wanted to know more about her. But the sit-down was quickly overshadowed by her response to a question on what she would have done differently from ...

Re: America Failed
Don't forget how many people are not registered for a party at all. They do not care about primaries. Nowadays, roughly speaking, there are 1/3 Republican, 1/3 Dem, 1/3 Independent or third-party. It would be hard to say how many of those are nevertrumpers (and there are some in every party (even JD ...

Re: Tomorrow
Sorry, I am late. Has Trump declared (bogus) victory yet? Regarding the OP, I take pity on the Trumpers. The vast, vast majority were ripe to be taken into Trump's cult where he blames others for their problems and claims he, alone, can save them. A few others are just mega rich and character poor ...

Re: Kamala! Fuck Yeah!
I think I understand you, Randy. You do not trust the United Nations (see https://sdgs.un.org/goals) because it is globalist thinking. You put Harris-Walz in this pot of globalism, too (fine). You do not like globalism because of sovereignty concerns, and it sounds like the end times (the second ...

Re: What happened to the immigration thread?
I never have thought of making immigrants Dems as the goal. Arnold Swartzanegger is an immigrant, and he made a good argument for being a Republican while marrying into the Kennedys. Change the radio station, you sheep. Come to think of it; I wonder if there was ever a concern that Joel Embiid could ...

Re: 2024
I was fine overlooking the racist jokes by a comedian at a rally. But then I heard JD Vance's response to it. Ohio! How did you elect this guy to a federal office? I thought JDs thing was that he was supposed to be able to relate to the common people since Donald was born rich and lives in a literal ...

Muslim ban again. Foreign graduate students with valid US student visas are not allowed to enter the US. More tech companies, including US tech companies, move their incubators to Canada and other foreign-friendly countries, just like they did after 2016. The US produces even fewer engineers. The US ...

Interesting timing for Mitch McConnel's biography to be released (hardback and audible). October 29th. One week before election day.

Re: Weather
Meanwhile, a tropical storm is producing killer floods no one has ever seen before in Asia this week. Nah, it is not in the news (the dead people are brown and poor).

My God.
We know enough about how the brain works and develops. But there is too much want for the dollar and clambering for 'freedom.'

Re: The Travel Thread
Sure, summers are great. That is why I have recommend places like Alaska and Scotland for summer vacation spots (the length of the day alone!!!). But the length of darkness of winter takes purposely getting used to (IMO). I kinda dread leaving work in the afternoon when it is already dark outside ...

I'm going to tell you kids what makes me laugh - and isn't funny at all. Most of you hate (or at least very much dislike) Trump. You rip on him on here. You say our country is fucked if he gets elected. Meanwhile, what if anything are you doing to help get Giggles elected - and/or Trump not elected ...

Re: The Travel Thread
I have never lived south of Lawrence, KS. If I lived somewhere further south, say Miami, FL (haha), would I notice the lengthening and shortening of the days? The annual amount of daylight all averages out pretty closely (Maine vs Florida), but the over 6 hours of less daylight in a Portland, ME ...

Re: Kamala! Fuck Yeah!
It's mystifying how Randy keeps claiming Kamala was unpopular in 2020, so how could she be the nominee in 2024? Well, I don't listen to his radio stations. But if he would try to think for himself, I think it would be obvious that she has had some wwesome preparation for the job in the last four ...
