Re: NCAA 2024/2025

I'd say about 15 games in is where you have a good enough amount of data to get an idea of a team - so for me, it's more early January - but yes, right now I think it's still using preseason rankings as a way to prevent major fluctuations.

Re: NCAA 2024/2025

Kenpom doesn't factor in score differential as much as it does efficiency per possession weighted against a team's prior efficiency per possession. Of course, that goes hand in hand with score differential. Yes, it's still early, but the Zags put a hurt on Baylor and Indiana and beat a good San ...

Re: NFL Season 2024

3 for me is right in the range of what i'd give if he was known for shit like that.
2-4.

A 1 time deal without history of plays like that would be 1 game.

Of note, that keeps him out of the Chiefs game so he can't do that to Mahomes thankfully.

Re: Baseball

Then every super rich person should donate 66 percent of their property/possessions/holdings, right now, to good causes. It isn’t going to happen. You can blame the owners all day and night—but as you can see, it’s not changing. A good start would be for taxpayers to quit subsidizing billionaire own ...

Re: Misinformation

"Wages outgrew inflation and net worth far outgrew it. CBO reported every household decile had more purchasing power in 2023 than 2019."

This part is not a hot take.
It references the data points.
The data is from a reliable source.

Re: Misinformation

Last season, KU basketball finished 23-11, a 4 seed and 19th in the AP and 27th in Kenpom. It felt like they were worse than that, like an 8 seed, and barely top 50, and whatever no one cares about those other data points they're useless. It's mostly about my eyetest. He's right, it's all subjective ...

Re: Misinformation

jfish provides reliable ( yes go look up the source - FRED ) data points.
JK talks about how he feels.
MICH says it's all subjective anyways.
pdub says that is damaging to our society.
ous says but both sides do it.

Re: Misinformation

BiggDick wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 12:27 pm It's foolish to assume misinformation is a one-way street.
Of course it is foolish to do so in all circumstances.
But this is not the argument here.
Misinformation should not be subjective and we should strive to live in a world where it is not.

Re: KU FB 2025

I for one would like JD back despite his up and down season.
He's better than any QB not named Jason Bean that we've had in the last 15 years.
