Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Let's see here. My 50 something year old cousin has M.S. and is going through treatments and if she gets Covid she can't get them, my 60 something year old sister is immunocompromised and has to get transfusions and if she gets Covid she can't get them, my 80 something year old mother needs to have surgery in the near future and if she get's Covid she can't have it.randylahey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 3:18 pmI dont know anyone in real life who gives a single shit about covid at this point. Wayyyyyy past that. Just a few ultra sensitive ku basketball message board posters is all I ever really see worried about covid at this point
I, they, and people who care about them, give "a single shit about Covid" but hey - at least your and my posts help people differentiate between someone who can be kind/compassionate/intelligent about Covid and someone who can be an asshole/moron.
Right?
You probably figure the 3 of them would be better off dead anyways so why should anyone give a fudge if they get Covid.

I'm sorry to hear all that, I'm not that insensitive. But it sounds like all the other health complications are the real issue, not covid. But none the less, all virus or illness become complicated when there is already preexisting medical conditionsRainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 4:40 pmLet's see here. That's the frustrating thing to me. I actually believe that you are sorry and I truly appreciate it but at some point we all need to realize different things affect different people in different ways and instead of ignoring that and/or focusing on ridicule, I feel we should try and be more understanding.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Nov 08, 2022 6:30 amI'm sorry to hear all that, I'm not that insensitive. Ok, off of my moral high ground....

Does it somehow remove the threat of a virus that spreads like wildfire?StayCurious wrote: ↑Tue Nov 08, 2022 11:28 amSomehow, this was forgotten in the last two years.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Nov 08, 2022 6:30 am But it sounds like all the other health complications are the real issue, not covid. My brother in law was sick (cancer) and died during the height of Covid. Partially because he couldn't get the treatment/s he needed due to some fuckwads that filled up the hospital/s - because they didn't give a shit about contracting and spreading the virus and then when they caught it and needed to be hospitalized - they got treated in the hospital - while those (such as my b.i.l) who did give a shit about Covid - got denied treatment/s.

All of those beds used up by people who were too lazy to go to work.
Am I doing this correctly?

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
I'm afraid there's not much one can do to prevent getting it. It really does spread like wildfire as Overlander said. Everyone in our family and relatives got it at the same time. I'm amazed that I avoided it until this year. But in the end, it was an unpleasant but mild infection. Almost everyone who gets it will be fine, unless you have a condition. The real people you should direct your anger and blame at are the idiots in the labs playing with this stuff.

Yep. There is no reason we should be doing gain of function research on viruses. Why would anyone even want to study enhancing viruses?

Did you see that news about Boston University? That's terrifying that they are playing with fire like that.

There are hundreds of labs around the world working with dangerous bacteria and viruses.

Well, fine then. Just don't complain if we have another pandemic from another lab "accident". I would rather them not be doing any of this kind of "research".Overlander wrote: ↑Tue Nov 08, 2022 5:42 pm There are hundreds of labs around the world working with dangerous bacteria and viruses.

you and randy are the only ones complaining here
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Curious and Randy won't be the only ones complaining if a global pandemic occurs from a lab leak.
I won't speculate on the origins of covid19.

Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
It’s not proven, and yes China will absolutely not help anyone here, that is was from a lab, and generally the thought is, from our own, of whom they don’t really have a side per se, that is was from a lab.

The nitwits don’t understand the need to research and study various viruses that occur naturally
