Sorry if my post came across that way.zsn wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:27 amBesides organ donation, participation in a clinical trial is one of the most noble and selfless acts a person can do. As a professional in the biopharmaceutical industry, I believe that everyone should be eternally grateful to these participants for the therapies they have come to rely upon.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:14 am I don't hate much of anyone, but I am also in the camp who wouldn't be a test dummy for vaccines. But not because I think it's unsafe.
I don't think you're stupid for doing it. You'll be fine. I am sure it's an interesting experience. Good luck!
I know you’re probably just trying to be funny and take a jab at a fellow board member but it’s also apparent that you (and a majority of the population) are unaware and blissfully ignorant of the courage it takes, especially for an unpaid healthy volunteer, to be a subject in a clinical trial. Above all, participation in a trial for deadly diseases like cancer is the only hope for for future patients. The participants know that the chances of being successfully treated is low but the chance that the drug/therapy being tested could lead to something promising is real.
I was not trying to be funny. I am also eternally grateful for those who participate in these types of trials and research. I personally just don't have the courage or desire to do so.
