Yeah, nope, not bothering with the "do your own research" crowd pointing me toward the stylings of Jim Jordan.

Its a perfect example of how a deceptive government works. "15 days to flatten the curve think about the elderly" turned into years of endless unnecessary unsuccessful mandates

Now the same people are telling you "you don't need an AR15 think about the children"....

You are in a cult.

You are being exploited, by bad-faith actors like Jim Jordan whose only discernible skill is producing talking-point gotchas that play well with the rubes, while simultaneously (and quite purposefully) undermining the ability of government to actually DO anything (and then using that failure to DO anything as evidence that the government CANNOT do anything).

Tell that to the 1 million citizens that died because rubes couldn't be team players.

Pro tip: Anyone as naive about the epidemiology of infectious diseases and the appropriate public health response to a pandemic that has airborne transmission would do well to keep their mouth shut, rather than attempt to pose otherwise and reveal just how ignorant they are.

stfu

“no threat to 99%” is just flat out wrong
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Yes, big congrats to the rubes who in their refusal to participate in the efforts to slow a deadly virus, allowed it to prolong, mutate and spread like wildfire across the globe. They sure showed everyone (how fucking dumb and selfish they are). Way to own a lib!

They told us right out loud and very clearly that if there wasn't a high enough participation rate in the efforts to slow the spread of covid that it would not go as well as possible and they were right.

Protip: Read your audience. Realize that when you spew shit with people who are not like minded, you will indeed get the attention you are seeking but those giving you attention will feel/know you are an asshole and express it to you.

The virus DID pose a "threat" to 99% of the population. Perhaps it wasn't worth taking drastic measures for but over million people and those who cared about them, they suffered the ultimate "threat" and consequence.
I know, fuck 'em. Who cares? Those who died were old, sick, worthless, and disposable anyways. TO YOU.
Those who loved and cared about those who died, fuck them too. Right?

For you to continue to imply the elderly and sick are not important to society (and yourself) simply makes you an asshole. Period.
The world belongs to them as much if not more than it belongs to YOU. Realize, decent people in this country care more about the elderly and the sick than they care about you.

What prolonged the spread was our efforts to "slow the spread"... its literally in the wording

Had the virus run a more natural course everyone would've developed natural antibodies and it wouldn't have been able to linger in our population in such high volume over the next few years. Everyone still got covid anyways

You had me (mostly in agreement) until you said "Everyone still got covid anyways". To the best of my knowledge I didn't get it, my mother didn't get it, and my sister didn't get it. I can't say for sure why not but I can say we took precautions at the beginning - and continued to take precautions.

The wisdom of the measures taken in the early weeks/months of the pandemic needs to be evaluated based on what was known then, not what was known later on. It's highly relevant to point out that "slow (or stop) the spread" never really had a chance in the first place...not because the science was not sound, but because King Griftalot simply did not want Covid to be real (or our "numbers" to be high).

As King Griftalot was probably the ONLY person who could have got buy-in from the rubes..."slow (or stop) the spread" was DOA. So, to the extent it didn't "work"...you need to think through exactly why that is.

This is what the rube-exploiting profiteers do: they undermine the ability of government to do anything effectively (while railing out of the other side of their mouths at the ineffectiveness of government).

It's a scam, you're the target.

"The wisdom at the beginning of the pandemic" lol. There was none. But they made shit up and forced in on everyone. And tried to silence and cancel anyone that questioned it (including highly qualified medical professionals)

Right, at the onset the wisdom of our fearless leader was "none" and then it got worse from there.
I'm not sure what exactly it is that you are referring to as being made up and who "they" is that you are referring to. Yes, shit was "forced" on people (and it sucked) mainly because people didN'T give a shit not only about themselves but about others - and because of it other people were dying and our healthcare system was in disarray.
Which brings me to the hypocritical bullshit logic most Republicans spew in regards to the gun "debate". Meaning, perhaps there are ways to reduce unnecessary deaths but who the fuck cares? It's not me who is dying and it's only X amount of people who are dying unnecessarily.
