Chiefs Offseason 2024
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
When there's big money involved this kind of morality is tossed out the window.
I think, generally, those who make that kind of money adapt to that mentality...so to plant your flag on quality of human in a league full of shitty humans from players to coaches to ownership...eh, it's like protesting the plight of college athletes on your iphone which was built on the backs of actual servitude.
Who are we kidding?
This league is simply about winning. That's it. The other stuff, the 'awareness', is just PR to keep the masses appeased.
So yea, it's why if I was the owner, Rice would be cut, but maybe my team would suck.
As a fan, I know how this league is run, saw what happened when KC tried to do the right thing, see how other teams with woman beaters are punished ( or not at all ), and am more ambivalent here.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
one of the reasons it’s hard for me to go all in on fandom
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

The whole entourage thing is what pisses me off. Group of idiots.

Chiefs open the season again—this time v Baltimore Thursday night at Arrowhead.
Baltimore, as we know, added Derrick Henry in the offseason.

Yep.DeletedUser wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2024 1:30 pmWhat an awesome showcase to get the season started. Very fun matchup between 2 superbowl contenders.
Just don't put it on something like Hulu, NFL.

Aren’t the Thursday games on Amazon? And Amazon is a great place to watch football. Libraries of books on the subject.

I just ESPN ‘article’ about the game. NBC. Maybe Charles Barkley will be in studio!

Ravens and Bengals (both at home) is a hell of a way to start the season. Go 2-0 there and you're in complete control of the race for the #1 seed - which (based on last year) is very very very obviously something that is quite important to get. You can't at all otherwise count on being in that sweet spot where you can sit Kelce (and others!) in Week 18.

I am curious to see how "up" they get for regular season games on a weekly basis. They looked totally different postseason last year. Which is natural for these types of unique dynasty teams that have the goal of accumulating championships.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 10:11 am Ravens and Bengals (both at home) is a hell of a way to start the season. It ain't Andy's first rodeo.
I'm willing to bet he saves like 15% of the playbook just for the playoffs.

Not sure if this will impact his future with the Chiefs, but Harrison Butker has some beliefs that aren't likely to be very popular with many Chiefs fans. I definitely think it will have a negative effect on how the general public and non-Chief NFL fans view our Chiefs.

Seems in line with what Benedictine might be going for...and the hillbilly NFL crowd as well. I hate to break it to you but the Chiefs play in Missouri. Odds are that there are more fans who DO support his opinion than do not. Just reading through twitter and there is plenty of fans that were happy to see what he said.Shirley wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 3:37 pm Not sure if this will impact his future with the Chiefs, but Harrison Butker has some beliefs that aren't likely to be very popular with many Chiefs fans.
