I think KU is firmly planted in the 4-6 range. If they lose 2 more, dropping to a 6. If they sweep, a low 3 or a high 4 is possible. But I don't think there's going to be much range on the seeds.

If we're a 4 and MIZZOU our 5 and we beat them, mark this season a success for me.

Clemson as the 5 and Ohio State as the 1.

Would.

In that scenario, I think Clemson is the weakest 5 and Ohio State the weakest 1, but still Ohio State is very good, they are 8-2 in their last 10 in possibly the toughest conference, and have those 2 looses were by an average of 3.5 points.

Do you think the committee would kind of do that already considering they've played Gonzaga and will go against Baylor (maybe) twice? I know they don't do rematches in the first 2 rounds and anything after that is fair game, but it just seems like I think the committee will reward KU for playing a brutal schedule AND will in all likelihood play all their games.

Fuck the Big 10. They're an overrated conference, again.

I think the committee follows their S-curve very closely but it just takes one geographical movement and we could be playing one of those teams. Lots of ball left, but if we are a 4 or 5 (seems likely), I think most important thing (after the 2nd round matchup), is to avoid the 2 teams that are clearly a level above the other potential 1 seeds.

Shit, I'm completely out of it this Monday--geography shouldn't mean a damn thing this year. I think we will see pretty tight s-curve matchups.

And the practice is to try and avoid rematches in first 2 rounds for conference opponents--after that, it's just too hard.

if we are a 4 or 5, does that mean this team is better or worse than 2019? (4 seed)

cuz this team seems more like it just had a particularly bad January slump, whereas that team was just bad.

I'm not going to agree or disagree because frankly I am undecided on your claim.
Serious question. Just out of curiosity, how many Big 10 games have you watched and how many other conference games have you watched?
I have watched Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois, and Iowa play multiple games.
All 4 of them looked like national championship contenders to me.
The question is how good are the other 10 teams? My answer is not too good at all.

This team is noticeably better than 2019, IMO. 2019's NCAA seeding did not reflect what the team was. The seeding was built a lot on the non-con wins that happened when Udoka was playing and Vick went on his hot streak.

This team's best ball looks like it will happen in late Feb and early March.

DMac or Dedric?
Jalen or sophomore Marcus?
Haunkey or (Vick)/baby Och?
Junior Och or Quentin?
Senior Marcus or Freshman Devon?

Dajuan, senior Mitch, Tristan, TGIF - or - Charlie, KJ, junior Mitch, freshman DMac?

yeah, that's a good point though, about how '19's seed didn't reflect where the team was as of March, after damn near an entire season of the wheels falling off.

Well, the big difference is the trend line.

2019, we just got worse and worse as the season went on and we lost players.

This year our worst is behind us and we're getting better. 2019 was a four seed that finished the year like a 7 seed and we're a 4 seed that is finishing like a 3 seed. (depending on the remaining games)

The one thing 2019 had that this team doesn't was a go-to guy in Lawson.
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

With apologies to Devon because I'm counting on MG's experience to come up big for us, the only player I'd take off that team is Dedric, but I'm even hesitant on that. He should be a 4-man circa 2010 era. Put up big stats on 2 bad teams.

Think about the shooting quad of Devon/Quentin/Frosh Och/MG - yuck.

Dedric
Jalen
Vick ( if he's allowed )
Chai
Devon ( this one was really tough but Devon had the speed )
