Lol yeah.

I dunno if anyone had yuge expectations.

But at the same time, hoops is a star-driven game, and I think any KU fan paying attention knew Sherron and Cole were burgeoning stars.

Still though! The rest of the team was freshman Tyshawn the backcourt, Quintrell Thomas getting starts cuz the freshman twins couldn’t stop airballing, and Face Ass.

Then, the next morning, all hungover, waiting for the car to come pick you up to take you to the airport, you fuck around on a dollar slot machine and win a thousand bucks.
Wrong bored, but.

My first Vegas trip was after my senior year at KU. Some buddies from where I grew up in Southern California drove in, and of course all of us were poor as shit. But especially these two guys.

One guy, Sean, proceeded to lose just about his entire bankroll (of, like, $200) in the span of 40 minutes. Dejected and walking to the Subway inside O'Shea's, Sean put his last $5 chip on red.

Wheel stops, pure elation. I mean, it's not much money, but it's a win! It'll pay for Subway, anyway.

Except: Sean did not win. The ball had come to rest on 0.

Sean is colorblind.

I hope someone bought Sean a Subway after that.

Another stat absent of any context. None of our other guys stayed in the NBA draft.

yea.

And the reason they didn’t stay, was cuz they weren’t getting enough interest from nba teams.

Tho, to add context, Garrett was a true senior who graduated, even if he had one year of potential eligibility left.

This narrative you're trying to create that we were running good offense and those 3 were just missing open looks is not rooted in reality. It's a false narrative.

It's hard to consistently get open looks when you don't have anyone to create off the bounce (and that's not directed at MG solely, because none of them were good at it).

Och coming back is like Matt Mayer coming back.

Garrett was in no better position than Och draft-wise.

Och has never been close to being in bad shape, but he is looking the part of a pro.

2 of these 3 on the court at most times
Harris
Yesufu
Martin

2 of these 4 on the court at most times
Ochai
Braun
Wilson
JCL

This dude on the court at most times
DMac

And then Mitch or Cam to back up Dmac. That's a 9-man rotation. Perfect. Let's do that.

This is the portion of the rotation I am most curious about. My gut tells me that right now Yesufu is 3rd on this list behind Harris and Remy. I think he is the most likely to miss out on the main rotation.

I read somewhere to expect Remy and Harris on the floor together a lot. I haven't seen Harris play since he ran around on the court against USC, but if he's really made the kind of progress being reported then I'm all in on 2 point guards playing together.

I think I disagree with those who say we have a deep team but Bill only play 7-8. I don't think he plays 10 guys an even number of minutes, but the best part about this particular brand of depth is the versatility 1-4. We should be able to match up against pretty much every kind of roster construction/offense. There's the core that will see the floor every game, but there's those 2-3 guys that might pop up and play 18 minutes every few games.

I'm cleaning out the garage this weekend so I can play the MSU game on the projector. I'm a garage guy now.

I feel safe, but the neighbor across the street has an adult son who always wants to talk to me about how he spent the day at the dump looking for valuables.

If he tries to do that during the game I'll kick his head off his neck.

There's no way Braun isn't a part of the rotation.

I don't think it's no chance. Slim, sure. But he could, say, tweak an ankle and get Wally Pipp'ed
