Jalen’s still gonna play a ton of minutes for us. Self even said he’s a starter. (At the 4, and especially once coach concedes Dajuan isn’t doing it for us)

He had one bad game. He’ll be ok.

Related note: so much of our trouble today came from being out-rebounded

Jalen played a ton and that's the thing he is supposed to bring to the table.
I only came to kick some ass...

Rock the fucking house and kick some ass.

CB is a good rebounder for 6'6", but he's too often our leading rebounder.

For this team to reach its ceiling we need Jalen to be good.

But right now the biggest problem might be just getting Dave up off the floor.

I dont think we should go a possession without the ball in Ochais hands.

Every single possession. He should get a touch in a position to score.

Just a touch.
Let the defense sweat.
Then move it.

I liked the set play to get Chai that open 3. Just missed.

Dave and Mitch are more examples to bring up when MICH, et al. like to bring up how much we should love seniors. Being a senior at KU is often not a great thing.

I thought about that.

“McDonald’s all American and returning starter senior” normally has a little more luster to it.

Is Och our only future long term NBA player on this team?

Remy is too tiny. You saw what they did to him on defense today iso-ing the shit out of him. The NBA would be a blood bath.

Dave? Well nevermind.

Wilson? I think he's got most of the tools, just not a good shooter, and average at best on defense.

Clemence? Too early to tell.

JCL? He's already the age many NBA players retire at.

CB? Maybe a young Kevin Huerter or Pat Connaughton? Needs to shoot more and make more 3s if he's going to pull that off.

Yesufu? Not seeing it.

Cuffe? He's probably 2nd best prospect after Och at this point. And thats based solely off of athletic ability and age.

I see Och, CB, Clemence, and Cuffe playing in the NBA.

Maybe Pettiford if he pulls a Frank Mason progression.

And, of course, with Remy, if you can score you have a chance.

Pettiford i didn't even want to touch because he's only taken a few jumpers so far and they looked AWFUL. So i didn't want to judge him too harshly based on those before seeing more. But those looked as bad or worse than anything Harris has chucked up in his time at KU.

Jalen’s got a chance, cuz he’s got the size, and got unique skills that doods his size don’t normally have, especially at this point.

Maybe not the overall athlete or the pure shooter he’d need to be, tho.

But one thing he has going for him that’s critical is, he thinks he’s a future nba player

Whether they play in the NBA doesnt matter.

Or, at least, it doesn't for our success this season.

I am trying to think of a recent good comp from college that was small but a big time scorer who worked out in the nba. Elite shooters can pull it off, but remy isn't really an elite outside shooter at 33.8% career average. So not a Trae Young type guy who has unlimited range.

It matters to them i am sure.

But no, not required for NCAA championships.

At this point? He's been in college for 3 years.

Probably Van Vleet.

Remy's stock is rising, though, because a lot of the haters didn't think he could play next to other good teammates, and we're still fully getting there, but he's been fine there.

Ya that's probably a good one. Although he was closer to 39% in college from 3pt land (2 seasons above 40%).

We have Remy listed at 6'0 and that seems generous when he stands next to some of our guys.

Re: Jalen, and illy’s 3 years comment

He’s played one full season of ball, and not even a normal season.

His first year was spent rehabbing from injury.

His second year was his only full season, and not even a normal full season cuz he still sat out cuz of a pandemic.

He’s third year so far is all of 2 games, and only one was really that bad.

Let’s not write his entire career off just yet
