maybe this is optimistic fanboyism, but I think I'm comfortable enough with what we've seen from Ernest to pencil him in as a 25+ mpg starter next year, and Zuby as the 10-15mpg backup big. (assuming we're going with 2 true bigs for our rotation, instead of playing the matchup game with KJ and/or just keeping him there jumping center since he did this year, potentially)

but, yeah, maybe one more.

But should that one more be some young dood to develop, or some more seasoned transfer? Maybe somewhere in between (underclassman transfer with still 2-3+ years of eligibility)
I think we all feel good about those 3. Our francourt is set already. Self kind of already added another. Marcus adams jr, a small ball 4 to develop

And we all know we're still gonna add another big

I feel pretty confident that if Udeh is good enough to be starting and playing 25 minutes that he can take over doing the jump ball to start the game.

Do we really need a big more than a shooter?

why not a big who can shoot? wait nm, Cam and Zach already transferred.

but, yea for real.

we only play 1 big at a time, but ideally 4+ doods who can shoot.

Let's go with Big Ern/Zuby/KJ as 5 options, Dajuan at the 1, and as many gunslingers as we can fit in between.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

He technically shot 33.9% which is better than what Jalen shot this year, but with that being said, McKnight only made 19 threes (out of 56 attempts).

The problem is that we do not have, and do not have a clear path to getting, a big who can shoot AND do all of the other things we ask our bigs to do.

Those are extremely rare; they become lottery picks (like Markieff).

Up to 2 spots open now. Going to be all in on the transfer market now. A shooter and a big.

Good. I'm ready to get back to the days of us having good guards.

Shooter and a scorer/shooter.
Need that more than bigs. I don't think we can get a good transfer big since they'd have so much competition.

Self hated the bench. It's pretty clear. Not great roster construction from him for the 22-23 season. But it's tough with the portal.

Need shooters. Isiah Moss types.

is the big just an assumption?

i’d think a couple prototypical combo guards that can shoot a bit (and aren’t midgets) would be the targets…a guy that can play on ball or off, coupled with a bigger “wing”

the best part is that we no longer have to be tortured by the "joe vs bobby" blather.

GM Bill has had a pretty rough run over the last, what, 5-7 years.

It has. And when you're already playing with one hand behind your back, you can't afford some of the misses we've had (Grimes, Thompson, perhaps Rice).
