I bet moore plays the minutes dajuan doesn't. Maybe 5 a game. Closer to 10 if Self actually rests dajuan a little, which I'm hoping he does. Dajuan didn't hold up very well playing 38 a game down the stretch last season

Agree about Passmore, but I don't see any scenario where he and McDowell both play rotational minutes. Have to give the returnee an edge in that battle for minutes.
True. I think McDowell could turn into a pretty solid defender.
Yes. He's active and energetic. I am hoping he's our Travis Releford type trajectory where he turns into a 3pt threat over time and is a 3 and D guy.

KJ at the 3 lol.

The only way that happens is if Self says, fuck outside shooting let’s just make ourselves easy to guard and hope the score stays in the 50s

That’s to say, ok yea maybe KJ at the 3 is plausible

Heck, let’s just play KJ at point guard.

Remember that one possession in the tounament he was caught 80 feet from the hoop trying to bring the ball up in the backcourt while Dajuan had one of those “best point guard in the country” moments and was nowhere to be found…presumably posting up, cuz btw he’s also our new power forward

Bored and lonely. I'd find somewhere better than this place to attempt to cure that.

Kj has played the 3 before. Self has mentioned KJ playing the 3 before.

We are talking about less than 5mpg of it. And we (I) are only talking about it in the context of IF Bidunga is our best bench player AND he can play with HD. Which is are big IFs. If he isn't, then it's a not an option.

If bidunga or clemence are good enough to warrant more minutes, it means KJ or hunter are getting more rest. None of those guys are sliding down to the 3

It's more likely we see some guard lineups with dajuan, zeke, Griffen, and storr all playing together with 1 big

But that feels less likely with the elmarko injury and kugel decommit

Absolutely. We will still be "small", with KJ or Storr at the 4, the majority of the time (unless we play Bidunga with HD). Which follows our recent trend the last 5+ years.

I really hope we try to get Bidunga and HD out there together though. Not sure how we will do it, but HD shooting better from 3 would be a good start. Bidunga is our high ceiling young guy, might as well try to find a way to use him while we have him.

If Minny can play KAT and Rudy together against NBA athletes then I am confident we could find a way to do something similar with HD and Bidunga against college competition.

Also, there really isn't that much difference between the 3 and the 4 in our offense. The biggest issue would be defense, and we know that's not an issue with KJ. He can guard 1-4. The main issue would be shooting, and that's an issue regardless of what "position" KJ is playing.

Bidunga is raw as hell. Crazy athletic tho. I think his role will be similar to turning a bull loose in a China shop.

Play with great energy in short stints. Try to get as many dunks rebounds and blocks as you can, and try to limit mistakes

Clemence is likely more prepared to play the 4 than bidunga is. At least right now

Is Griffen a good ball handler?

Who gets the PG minutes when DH is out: Zeke or ShakMo (still not liking it)?

Late last year, when Elmarko was messing up and DH was out (and KM was hurt), we had Kj initiating offense and bringing the ball up. We really need Zeke or ShakMo to be able to competently bring the ball up against pressure and initiate offense for 6-8mim per game.

I do like the idea of letting Kj initiate occasionally at times (especially when DH is out), similar to how we used JW at times, because it takes the pressure off of his shooting and he excels at passing/driving.

I've also been seeing some videos of HD looking quicker and stronger. A clear emphasis for him must be the pump fake on jump shots and driving to the hoop. That should improve his effectiveness in the p&r with DH and with the big to big action we run with he and Kj. Self should be watching tape of how well Rudy and KAT work together in their big to big action and try to replicate some of that.

It feels fairly obvious that shakeel moore will be the back up point. We are taking 5-10 minutes when dajuan is out. You aren't high on moore?

He's a nice addition to our team. Tons of experience. He's a shifty point with a decent outside jumper.

Most importantly he guards. He locks in defensively and is kind of a "pest"
Self gives guys a chance if they guard.

It's not a coincidence he committed immediately after elmarkos role became vacant

I’m cautiously optimistic for Moore.

Even despite other high major scoring PG transfers named Moore
