KJ is a PF. That's a big imo.

Jalen Wilson is a SF. That's a wing imo.

I don't care if you call KJ Adams a Power Forward, a Right Tackle, or a Tomato, we don't run 2 big offense when he's at the 4.
LOL

A 2 big offense doesn't require each player being positioned on the block/in the paint the entire time.
No idea what you are trying to say.

The fact is when KJ was at the 4 last season, we ran the same exact sets as when Jalen played the 4. Nothing changed on offense. We run 4 around 1 on offense. We have since 2018.

Sure.

But that doesn't mean the 4 and 5 can't be "bigs".

PJ Tucker plays the 5 frequently for the Heat. He isn't a center.

No it's not.

Last year we started out with DH and Remy starting.
Because Jalen doesn't know how to use Uber.
so if Jalen didn't begin the season in the doghouse, would Remy have started over Dajuan?
For sure.

But it all worked out. Remy was fresh at the end when we needed it.

Tangentially, we also don't get Remy without COVID, so the 2020 canceled tourney could be a blessing in disguise. I know we all think we would have won in 2020, but nothing is guaranteed.

Yes, my bad.

And Josh Jackson's numbers are what I expect out of Jalen this season.

You're arguing something completely different, then.

Self has a two-post offense. It's pretty famous. Other than when Mitch would do mop-up minutes at the 4, we haven't seen those sets since Perry Ellis. And our recruiting of big guys reflects that.

I still can't get over Self just casually handing over his National Champs hat to Devon.

And, even more generally, Self's entire composure and attitude this tournament. The Elite 8 jitters were gone, in favor of just matter of factly doing GOAT things. He's arrived.

KJ is a big. He played the 4 and 5 exclusively last year. He will play the 4 and 5 exclusively this year.
If your offense has 4 perimeter players, it's not a two big offense. You can play 2 bigs, but one has to be have guard skills to play on the perimeter, becuase it's a 4 perimeter player (guard) offense. You can play two bigs for defensive purposes, but 4 out 1 in is a 4 guard, 1 big offense.

And I'll show myself out again because I hate these stupid fucking Illy arguments.

I agree with that. Maybe we aren't understanding each other.

I agree we run a 4 around 1 offense presently. No, phd, that doesn't mean 4 guards 1 big. It means 4 players are positioned on the perimeter with 1 positioned on the interior.

I do not think we will run a 2 post offense/hi-low.

I consider KJ a big. If we play KJ and Clemence together then I consider that "playing 2 BIGS" even though 1 will always be positioned on the perimeter for spacing purposes.

Well Miami came out and bullied us in the first half, but he woke our guys up at the break.

But, I also think he's arrived. You win 2, no one can tell you shit. Time to just outclass every other bench on the way to Final Fours even if we have inferior talent or in an "off" season.

The elite 8 jitters were gone? We looked pretty jittery that first half against Miami.

Essentially your argument is that in 2007, KU played a 2 QB offense because Kerry Meier played every offensive snap and his designation was as a QB and that's the position that 24/7 Sports listed him as.

yea (ETA re:elite 8 jitters..can't kept up today)

and contrast the way we came out in the second half vs Miami, with all the other Elite 8s we come out tight, stay tight, and have to play some futile game of catch-up.

That's not what a strawman is. You can point out the fallacies of comparing football and basketball offenses, but it's not a strawman argument.

It's really a decent analogy. Whatever you call yourself position-wise doesn't matter. The actual position within the offense is what matters.

Right. You don't know what it is.

Completely unrelated: I will admit you have an uncanny ability to turn any and every topic into an argument of this type and nature. You may have a future in cable tv news.

Like, there are times I can't believe how much time I spend going down your tangents. It really is somewhat of a gift.
