And Dajuan is totally a 65% 3 pt shooter . . .Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:34 amHow is he a liability on offense? He was the best driver on the team, and he shot better from 3 than Braun (35% vs 34%) and it's not like he never shot them (more than two attempts per game).PhDhawk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:25 amfor Garrett or for Self?
I'd love to have him playing the 3 again, and going beast mode on defense. But then we NEED a real PG who's gonna push pace, because Garrett's a half court liability on offense. Which was the problem with him being the PG, it slowed things down which makes a lineup with him in it easier to defend.

Remains to be seen how Yesufu transitions to a new team and better competition. Not many Guards come in an excel right away here.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:37 amAgreed, except the replacement part. On the offensive end I think Yesufu is better.
Also, I consider Yesufu more of a Garrett replacement...even if he plays off the ball he's more in the Devonte Graham/Mario Chalmers role to me than Ochai who is more in the Selden/Wiggins/McLemore role. When you're playing 3-4 Guards they can be very different in terms of role.

MG was our most valuable player this past season.

Point still stands. Garrett is not a good perimeter shooter and not a better perimeter shooter than Braun.Mjl wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:43 amDajaun shot less than 1 per game, Garrett shot more than 2 per game
Re: CBB 20/21 season, non-ku
I don't know, I'd rather have multiple guys that can get to the rim than multiple guys that stand on the perimeter shooting 3s, as long as those guys who can get to the rim are at least capable of hitting 3s.PhDhawk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 11:41 amRemains to be seen how Yesufu transitions to a new team and better competition. Re: CBB 20/21 season, non-ku
I'd take MG back only as a 4. He absolutely cannot be the PG again. His defense and leadership are great, but he's an offensive liability. If you have a PG and two wings that can shoot, MG can slide nicely into into the 4 spot.

I don't want Marcus as my PF...

I don't see any way Marcus comes back. Self is clearly constructing this roster with the idea in mind that we won't have him and I think Self knows the way last season's roster was put together counting on Marcus to be the PG was not good. I would imagine if Marcus comes back he's going to have to be willing to accept a much more limited role on the team.

I don’t think it would necessarily be more limited, just more off the ball.UnholyLivingDead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:08 pm I don't see any way Marcus comes back. Think his role in 20 more so than 21

Left Iowa State after main recruiter left to UNLV. Transfers to UNLV. Now transfers back to Iowa State to be with coach who was at UNLV.

Prohm at least showed he could have some success. Fired him to bring in a guy who couldn't even win in a bad conference. On top of that, he's bringing his shitty players that couldn't win with him. O/U 4.5 wins next year.
