So, time to be aggressive and start a preseason-AA narrative:

Ranking the top 25 players in college basketball for 2020-21

4.(!) Marcus Garrett, Kansas Jayhawks

Your national defensive player of the year has a knack for blowing up whatever play the opposing offense thinks it's about to execute. Indeed, you can make a case that Garrett is one of the best collegiate defensive players under 6-6 since Marcus Smart. Note additionally that the version of Garrett that showed up to drain six 3-pointers and score 24 points against Oklahoma in February is arguably the best player in the country. In larger sample sizes, however, the junior is a career 58% shooter at the line who connects 28% of the time from beyond the arc.

And none of Garrett's defensive repertoire relies on The Flop, as was the case with the other Marcus. Jussayin'

fuckingarza.
Garrett just needs to slightly improve his shooting numbers and he's a star.
I may be still seeing Ochai when he shrugged off his redshirt but I still think he can be a top 25 player in the nation.

Among the good things about Marcus playing more on the ball is one less non-shooter off the ball.

Exactly. Good ball handler, can penetrate and is a pretty good passer as well. 6-5 PGs are nice.

I see a SR szn line of 13pts/g 8ast/g 3stl/g 5reb/g

He will be a stat sheet stuffer.

Marcus can get to the basket. It's his FT shooting that is his Achilles heel,

Im excited for PG marcus. Though,
I hope against hope that dotson returns. I hate that Dotson was robbed of the opportunity to shine in the 6 games that define so many college careers.

There might be a elephant in the room deterrent for Dotson to even consider coming back.
Dotson could be robbed again to shine in 6 games depending on the clown show in charge.

I choose not to consider that option until it is forced upon us

Sure.
But Dotson doesn't have the luxury of knowing.
I would guess that winning a National Title would be a big reason for coming back, especially not even having the chance to do so as the no. 1 overall seed, but with kangaroo court looming, that reason could be off the table.

Im counting this year as our possible postseason ban

I would hope that the NCAA would be reasonable and factor that we were heads/shoulders/wingspans above the competition and not allowed to compete in their decision.

But the NCAA is no Chalkrocker.

clown show...kangaroo court...not Chalkrocker...when did pdub suddenly start hating amateurism?

I've always stood by the spirit of college athletics but never have thought the NCAA has done a good job of leading it.

See page 2 of F the NCAA thread started in 2018.

but back to Marcus, and assuming Dotson hates amateurism even more than pdub...

What's the scoop on Dajuan? Will he be ready go to? Cuz if not, I can only imagine Marcus may the next pg to play 40 minutes a night. And can Dajuan play some off the ball too? either way multiple pg lineups are good.

it's pretty much something like:

pg: Marcus, Dajuan

Big: DMac, Silvio, Mitch

then a plethora of potential lineups in between at the 2-4.

I wonder if, say, Tristan and Jalen will ever be on the floor at the same time...

Garrett will get 35 MPG.
Naadir Tharpe was around the same caliber of PG as Harris in terms of recruiting and he got around 6 minutes a game his first year out spelling Ty Ty.
And Harris has had a year of shirtin'.

I wonder if Naadir Tharpe woulda beat out McBride?

cuz the fact Dajuan sent that dude packing makes me think he's legit.

Thompson and Braun are also PG's in a pinch. Don't see Jossell coming--would be a shirt candidate, anyway.

Harris will be ready to go. Stock was rising fast, like Och. Knows the system now after the shirt. Perhaps not the brightest guy, though. Garrett gets the lion share of the minutes, but he's nicked up a lot.

Barely. Similar prospects, really. Jossell is of the same mold.
