Chiefs 2023
Re: Chiefs 2023
Who knows if we get the 2 point conversion but we deserved two separate shots at it.

Except for the exception of on the road at the end of the game.pdub wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:37 pm Rules analyst on MVS:
This is an obvious pass interference.
Has to be a foul.
Should have been called.
On Kelce:
There was a push.
When you have a two handed shove in the back, it had to be a shove. Just like any other pass play, this is a foul, it should have been pass interference.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: Chiefs 2023
OMG, that is the corniest homer claim you could have possibly made. Spare me that nonsense. Good night all. Have fun whining about the refs like losers do.

Mahomes was hit on the side of the helmet. In real time. Glancing blow. Launch.

Tony Dungy.
“You have to call those.”

Re: Chiefs 2023
You are kinda annoying.
Every single analyst is saying how we got screwed yet here you are keeping us in check.
Re: Chiefs 2023
He is a 0 and 1s straight shooter who thinks the officials fucking up and clearly changing the game is just an excuse. It’s dumb.
The whole narrative that “only loosers complain about the refs” is just lemming talk. You can BOTH play like shit and deserve to loose but ALSO get fucked over royally by officiating so that it completely alters the outcome of the game.
Re: Chiefs 2023
The refs were awful. But the rest issue and road game was the biggie. They get a rested and studied desperate Bills next week. Yay.
Re: Chiefs 2023
Dungy and co:
“This is an easy call. You don’t have to go to officiating school to know that. This is ridiculous.”
“Here’s another obvious pass interference. Gotta make those calls.”

Re: Chiefs 2023
It isn't just the Chiefs. The league is starting to look like WWE. May just save time and blow off the NFL. I am not sure why the league just let its brand go south. There needs to be an official apology
Re: Chiefs 2023
They need to make every play reviewable by challenge. Every play.
Coach gets two challenges, gets one right, he gets a third. Save em for really fucked up calls.
I don’t want the booth instant replaying stuff like that at all but it should be able to be challenged. Any single person who has watched more than a game of football would be able to see that was DPI.

Re: Chiefs 2023
Agree. What was especially egregious on the DPI was that the defender decided a penalty was better than a score and tackled him early on purpose. And still
Re: Chiefs 2023
I fully agreed with all about the call that should have been made on the ball to MVS. But Sparko saying the hit on Mahomes has a lead with the helmet with intent to injure is just flat out corny.pdub wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:43 pmHe is a 0 and 1s straight shooter who thinks the officials fucking up and clearly changing the game is just an excuse. KC benefitted from a bad call and it gave them a chance to stay in the game. Then they shot themselves in the foot with a self-imposed terrible penalty on Pacheco and still miraculously had a shot to stay in the game only to get fucked by the refs.
I personally choose to focus on the things that are under the control of the Chiefs and my guess is that the comments by Reid and Mahomes will be similar to mine. Played like crap, too many penalties, yet another terrible INT by Mahomes, etc... These are things that KC has got to correct and to date, they are not getting them corrected. We're 12 games into the season now so it's getting to be time for these things to get cleaned up. You and Sparko choose to focus on the wrongs inflicted upon the Chiefs by the refs. It's fine, it's your shtick, I get it. If we took a poll and asked all the users here who whines the most about the refs during Chiefs and Jayhawks games, it would be the two of you in a landslide. Be honest.
Maybe the Chiefs get it all figured out and we all laugh about it as they celebrate another Super Bowl, who knows. Hopefully that's what happens. Three of their remaining four games are against pretty shitty teams so maybe that helps. Until then, the Chiefs have major question marks surrounding them.

Re: Chiefs 2023
The refs were terrible tonight, but bad officiating is so far down the list of things hurting this team that it’s barely worth talking about.
Talk it to death if you want, but what is there to say? Officiating is variance and you need to have a team that can overcome it.

Re: Chiefs 2023
Twocoach. Rewatch the the hit. Mahomes' head snapped violently from the helmet hit. That was actually a good call. Should have evaluated him. Unnecessary roughness. Purposely tried to injure. We know what he was trying to do when he launched.
The refs were awful. But Mahomes also threw a terrible pick. And Dillon injured two guys. The big difference on both ends was fatigue. That and injuries are ruining the season. They play a bye week team and two thursday teams next. Brutal schedule.
The bad calls cost KC 11 points or so, plus that long 4th down pass that led to a TD. The NFL is frankly broken. Calls played a huge role in a well played game. The rest of the league are tired of the Chiefs winning. The Chiefs got maybe one call and social media went crazy bitching about Mahomes.

Re: Chiefs 2023
The Refs sucked last night. So did the Chiefs. Go ahead and blame the loss on both but.......
What I find incredible is that of all the Chiefs games threads I have read (partially and in their entirety) in my lifetime (my guess is 50+ or so) the Chiefs have never won a game because of the refs. Seems at least 25% of their loses were blamed on the refs more than on the Chiefs playing poorly. Interesting.
Moving on because there is no choice but to do as such....
The one ok thing about the L is that it was against an NFC team.
Don't forget the Chiefs currently have the best Conference record.
I believe the Chiefs have the easiest remaining schedule between them, the Jags, Raves, and Phins.
I'm predicting......
Chiefs 12-5
Jags 12-5
Raves 11-6
Phins 12-5

Re: Chiefs 2023
The call in the last superbowl was bitched about contantly. So no. And then look at the 50 years prior to Mahomes Gutter. Lots of bad teams augmenting forward progress losses.
KC is hammered by injuries. This season is probably done.

Re: Chiefs 2023
I think the refs fucked up in our favor in the Vikings game this season. No problem saying that.
Again, you can both play like shit and deserve to loose AND get fucked over by the officials. This is what happened last night.
Our defense ( down 4 starters ) let chunk play after chunk play. On 4th and 2 three of our secondary were in the area and let Doubs come down with a 20 yard floater. Mahomes was throwing balls too low or too high. MVS ran a wrong route that shoulda been a first. Skyy Moore ran a terrible route and Mahomes threw it anyways leading to a pick. We stopped running the ball in the fourth quarter.
BUT:
A phantom hold on Creed Humphrey cost us four points. A missed hold and hands to the face on the aforementioned 4th and 2 led to them scoring 7 and not punting on 4th and 12. A pretty suspect personal foul ( it wasn’t a late hit but there was helmet to helmet contact ) was negated from an ejection when our RB was getting choked on the ground and he retaliated ( dumb of him ). One of the worst non called DPI I’ve ever seen ( not seen? ) in the NFL which would have put us 1st and goal within the 5 with enough time left for maybe four shots at it likely cost us the chance to tie. A push in the back (yes it was a Hail Mary play) against Kelce wasn’t called which would have given us one chance to tie from the one yard line ( yes, i know, we would have had to go for two ).
Both can happen and did.
The analysts and announcers were all talking about how bad the officials were.
It’s not some sort of kool aid deal here—it’s just shitty officiating.
