I’d argue all three - I think they win the Denver game, also, if Skyy pulls in a well-thrown ball for a TD.

Instead he biffed it, just like MVS did last night.
Yup.
Skyy go ahead TD vs Denver right in his hands.
Kadarius a drop that led to a pick 6. Another drop that would have given us control of the clock in FG range.
MVS very likely a game winner, dropped.

Re-negotiate Mahomes.
If you want Mike Evans or Calvin Ridley, that's what it's going to take.

In other news, we can cut MVS in 2024 for just a 2 million dollar cap hit instead of taking on 14 million.
Um, yea.
If Mahomes is ready to move into that portion of his career, sure. He's a big boy, he knows the stakes.

But unless he's going to play for the veteran's minimum - spoiler alert: he's not - you're really only moving your margin for error incrementally.

You cannot miss on mid-tier contracts (like paying a guy $11mm for a job you can get guys off the street to do).

And, you cannot miss on 1st round RBs (like Clyde) or 2nd round WRs (like Hardman and Skyy).

And, you must brutally move on from everyone a year too early (we haven't yet really paid the price for not turning Jones into picks, but it's coming).

Mahomes cap hit is 57 mill in 2024.
Vet's min is just under 2 mill a season.
I'm thinking there's some number in between there that would get you enough cap space to get you Mike Evans.

Think below Josh Allen at 47 but above Carr at 36.
( he'd still be making 15+ more million than anyone on the team )

He deserves to be paid what he's getting but if he wants to do Tom Brady things, he needs to realize the salary cap is fighting him, like Tom Brady did.

Chiefs shoulda listened to GM pdub and signed Thielen this offseason.
His cap hit on the Panthers was 3.3 million this year.

What receiving ( WRs, not including TE's ) groups are worse than the Chiefs in the NFL?
Patriots?
We done here?

Now let's add TE's.
Are we top 20?
Who is definitely worse?

Pats. Pants. Giants. Titans.

Who is in the argument?
Bears. Colts.

Like, take the Commanders.
I might swap Scary Terry, Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas for Rice, MVS, Toney and Kelce.

Look at Mahomes' face after this one.
"What can I do?"

I don't disagree with the logic underlying your point. I just won't extend it into criticism of Mahomes for NOT leaving contract money on the table. In my opinion, that is 100% his prerogative and out of scope for fans or analysts to criticize him over.

However - I don't think recognizing that this is a zero-sum game is the same thing as criticism. If Mahomes sees that all that's really left for him is rings - and that's what he says, and I think he's right - then yes, absolutely, it is more than fair to point out that he does have a say in any given year's chances (based on how much of the cap he's taking up).

In other words, I have ZERO problem with Pat hoovering up as much money as he can. BUT, he also needs to call a spade a spade. Which, by not coming out and blasting the WRs, I think he's implicitly doing. And we'll see what he does this offseason, when the WR room is due for an "offensive line after the 2021 Super Bowl"-level fumigation.

I won't criticize Mahomes for it necessarily - he's at 'do no wrong' status basically.
But he needs to realize he has a hand in roster make up with the amount of money he takes up.
He gets to determine that - and 43 million, while not 57 million, is still loads of fucking money - and now all of a sudden you have an Pro Bowl WR who can help you increase your legend ( and money outside of football ).

I wouldn't be stunned if the difference in a guy like Mahomes in advertising/endorsements etc. from winning the Super Bowl to not is in the 10-15 million dollar ballpark anyways.

Weather was a factor. Go for the bomb and lose, it is now 3rd and 10 with everyone coming on a blitz. KU has lost some key possessions the same way. Every so often it works. But a final drive needs to be managed carefully.

Hopefully we meet them again down the line and he gets a chance to redeem himself for the drop. He knew he let a big one get away there.

Offseason ( for kicks ):
Tag/trade Chris Jones for a 2nd.
Say goodbye to Sneed unfortunately—he will cost too much. Veach scouts CBs well and Spags has a certain prototype here that not everyone goes for.
Resign Gay. Extend Thuney if he agrees to something reasonable. Same with Justin Reid but like way more reasonable.
Cut MVS so fast.

Get Evans or Ridley.
( or explore trade for Hopkins - like, 5th round pick )
Take a flier on ACL recovering Kendrick Bourne.
Trade up in the draft for a DT.

Definitely cut MVS.

I'd prefer Evans over Ridley, but YES please, get someone.

I hate to say it, but this season has really made me miss Tyreek.

Now that he’s off the team I see how much I can’t stand that dude.
I’d rather loose without him than win with.

Plus we got McDuffie from that trade.
