Big Dance storylines
Big Dance storylines
- whether fans should attend during a pandemic
- whether the top ranked team on the chopping block can make a final four so that, among other reasons, their starting center can see his mom
- whether another top ranked team’s starting pg sits cuz of a Snapchat vid
What else?

Re: Big Dance storylines
A #1 overall seed has not reached Final 4 since 2015. Does Kansas break the streak this year?

They'll have it. Just depends on if it'll be limited fans or not.

They will and it will. If our trajectory is on pace with Italy there will be limited gatherings of all kinds shortly
Just Ledoux it
Re: Big Dance storylines
Fans should probably not attend during a "pandemic" and if it gets to the point where fans are not allowed to attend, then it's probably not "safe" for players to be playing either.
That coming from someone (me) who plans to travel to attend games and will be attending as long as fans are allowed to attend.

Re: Big Dance storylines
Big 12 not allowing media in locker rooms and media also won't have access any closer than row 2 of seating for practice.
Makes me think they'll limit fans seating as well.
This is actually smart. If you're going to have an issue for fans seating, don't let players get close to fans. Keep them 5 rows or so back. I understand it may not have much prevention, but it's at least something.

Re: Big Dance storylines
As of now it seems that the First 4 games will be played without fans.
Governor of Ohio is asking that no events with spectators take place for indoor events. Outdoor events are fine.
First Four is in Dayton.
Huge possibility that fans won't be attending the games. TV money too big for the tournament for the games to be cancelled or postponed. But expect games with very limited fans.
Still don't know why they are doing this. Greatest risk is those over 60 or so. Just tell people that they are entering at their own risk.

Probably a bigger concern about the people whose presence they are requiring. Plus, a cruise line just got sued today.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:08 pmStill don't know why they are doing this. Greatest risk is those over 60 or so. The reported numbers are, at best, incomplete, and at worst, a lie. The caution makes logical sense to me because of that. I think it's premature, but perhaps not if this thing gets out of control, which is entirely possible.

Yeah. I think places don't want to get sued.

Re: Big Dance storylines
ACC continuing with their conference tournament business as usual. Providing extra hand sanitizers and frequent cleaning of restrooms, concourse areas and concession stands.
Only difference is media access to locker room. Interviews will take place in a room.

Re: Big Dance storylines
Would negate a decent advantage being in Omaha for the first two games if there were zero fans.

Re: Big Dance storylines
Conference tournies are dirt cheap right now for Big East and A10. You can get in for $5 for early rounds, $15 for later rounds.
If you don't have fear of the virus, and wanted to go to NCAA games, it's dirt cheap right now. I doubt they take away fans. Could you imagine watching 60 hours of sneaker squeaks for the first two rounds of the tourney.
Re: Big Dance storylines
I would go if I was in the KC area.
Maybe they can fake the cheers and boos like a laugh track in Big Bang Theory.

Re: Big Dance storylines
Yeah, we were talking about piping in fake crowd noise. I would be fine with just mutters and random audio of crowds talking to themselves.

There have been a couple of pieces of collateral damage of COVID-19 that have personally benefited me.
If it cancels the Big 12 Tourney, I would like a test tube of a strain be placed next to the Natty Trophy in Booth HOF.

Re: Big Dance storylines
Real question, if NCAA (won't happen, just thought experiment) decided to scrap the NCAA tourney, and just award it to the AP #1 team, would KU hang a banner?
Re: Big Dance storylines
HELMS YA.
