Re: who ya got?
This has bothered me, because I have both of these feelings at the same time. I guess if you're in the game you gotta play it.
Defense. Rebounds.
Re: who ya got?
and that’s the kicker
a candidate that doesn’t play THAT game, won’t be playing very long
the current system REQUIRES a certain level of “corruption” to even be competitive
Re: who ya got?
So we're officially to the point where the words "billionaire" and "corruption" are interchangeable?TraditionKU wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 11:25 amand that’s the kicker

being a billionaire isn’t the point, necessarily
it’s money, in general. someone almost has to have the money, regardless of where it comes from, in order to compete. the overwhelming majority of candidates aren’t uber wealthy, so that money comes from donors. those donors aren’t generally like you and i, or really anyone on this board (i would presume), and their donations tend to come with some sort of strings attached (hence my reference to corruption)
maybe i’m being too cynical, but i think not

Re: who ya got?
Serious question/s time.
Does anybody care that Joe and Bernie are NOT physically and/or mentally well?
One man is a 78 year old who is running for President and had a heart attack within that last 6 months and the other one is clearly having cognitive issues.
People are actually ok with either of these men being President for 4 or more years?
I'm not.

Re: who ya got?
Yes, people care. It is a real issue that in a time when it is critical (to some/most) that donald trump be defeated that these are the best options the democratic party could out together. The DNC is relying heavily on the "at least hes not Trump/anything but Trump" vote. It may work, it may not. The question to me is why wouldnt your present an option that jas a possibility of retaining and controlling office for 8 years? Neither of the 2 have a shot in hell at running in 2024.
Just Ledoux it
Re: who ya got?
Is it bad that when someone says a candidate has cognitive issues, I can’t even figure out which candidate they’re taking about?
Re: who ya got?
Well whatever the results of this election are, at least the boomers got their guy?
