Pdub wants to know if that means late night is cancelled. And if so, he disapproves.

So there's the first really big domino to fall.
I realize I'm quoting myself and I don't care...

Does the NCAA move to arenas that will have fans in the stands? Or do they let it play out.

I would think moving arenas at this point would be logistically impossible.

For games without spectators? I don't think so.

Colleges, high schools, and a lot of arenas host games with a week of notice or less come postseason time.

Sure. But i thought Newton was asking if they would move sites/states to places that do allow spectators. Maybe i misunderstood the question

It's not that simple, when you consider the need for hotel space, and broadcast setup, etc.

What's going to happen when the arena operators tell the NCAA to fuck right off with a plan that would involve using a building without producing any ancillary revenue?

I would think every arena would have a contingency plan as well. Like if the Sprint Center roof would cave, they'd move game to AFH or Kemper.

Yeah, I misunderstood the question. NCAA can't move this to arenas with spectators without a giant headache and paying out the ass.

Lawrence has like 39 hotel rooms and Kemper no longer exists, but I get your point.

It sure seems the best way forward if you have to make a change is limiting crowd to 1000, aka team allotment only and paying the venues out of the TV revenue for loss.

I'm not so sure - who would be coming up with that plan? Sprint Center itself, no. The NCAA? I doubt they go through that exercise for 14 sites/year on the men's side alone.

The host school/conference? Maybe, but even that's a stretch.

I was in Minneapolis when the Metrodome roof collapsed, and there wasn't a delineated contingency plan to move the NFL to the University of Minnesota, even though that was the only plausible alternative.

There was also not, while the Metrodome still stood, a contingency plan for the Twins to play there if there was an issue with Target Field, and the Twins had played in the dome for thirty years.

And an anchor tenant would be, if anyone, the most likely to have a plan in place.

I saw that, but I'm not sure the regional is a "city-related event." I don't know what "city-related event" means.

Is that a city related event? I would think of a city related event meaning a sponsored 5k for st pattys day or movies in the park by the parks and rec dept. Etc.
