I’m never going to get over this.

You might not ever get over it but the pain will probably/hopefully lessen over time.
I'm still in the shock phase. Might not really sink in for me until next week when they games were supposed to start. Although, cancelling my trip to the Western Regional felt very real and of course was upsetting.

No. All practices are cancelled. Although, I certainly hope that they are working out on their own just to stay ready in case something changes. Sounds like some coaches are having conversations behind the scenes trying to keep the possibility of some sort of tourney down the line alive. I dont think the tourney is 100% dead yet.

Talked to my mom. She’s melting down about hoops being cancelled.

I say it’s a bummer, but I’m concerned about so much more than hoops.

She asks what’s the fuss all about, and I reply that my work requires me to interact with hundreds of travelers daily, many of whom are just coming thru DIA, and nearly all of whom remain stubbornly ignorant to the idea that they can get it and spread it too. I say I figure it’s just a matter of time til I get it myself.

She says stop being so paranoid, you aren’t gonna get it, people are just overhyping it, but for real what are the odds they uncancel the tournament?
