OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS HOOPS MELTDOWN THREAD
Re: OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS HOOPS MELTDOWN THREAD
I think they should release a bracket on Sunday. I think ESPN should then have the experts break it all down like they always do. From the first 4 all the way to the N.C.
It’s not like they have anything else to do.

They didn’t try.
If they wanted to have a tournament they would have postponed instead of cancel,

Re: OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS HOOPS MELTDOWN THREAD
Postponing rather than canceling would have also given the folks some hope in a time when we could use some.
Re: OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS HOOPS MELTDOWN THREAD
I would guess, but others here might know better, that insurance might cover a cancellation but not a postponement. And, suggestion that playing it later is viable might jeopardize the coverage.
Re: OFFICIAL CORONAVIRUS HOOPS MELTDOWN THREAD
I would welcome the distraction. So yes, bracket please.

Any other states canceled HS sports yet? We just got everything canceled this afternoon. Basketball semis were tonight and all spring sports suspended.
We have 1 confirmed case in the state.

I don't have a good answer to your question and I completely agree that it's a "so dumb" idea.
ZERO point to do it other than for a bunch of blowhards to debate something that won't exist.
Might as well spend your time discussing the tooth fairy.
But...... I'm just one frustrated schmuck with an opinion. Let them do whatever the fuck they want.

Supposedly there are between 325 and 350 million people living in the USA.
Supposedly there are between 9 million and 45 million people who get the flu in the United States every year.
Supposedly there are between 450,000 and 500,000 NCAA Student Athletes.
I'm not going to do the math but I figure there is a decent chance at least 5000 NCAA Athletes had the flu at some point this school year and participated in events with other athletes and/or students.
Im not trying to minimize COVID-19 but stupid me is having a difficult time understanding why all of a sudden the NCAA is feeling a need to give a damn about student athletes well being to the extreme that they are.

I can say this, it is armageddon out there.
Wife and I met at the store to get groceries....shelves are at best half full.
Lines were 25 deep.
And, the final sign that this is the end.......no ramen noodles.
See you all on the other side.....

there is no treatment for Covid-19, just treatment of the symptoms
