As someone who rides elevators with other people multiple times a day - I would probably be no worse being on an airplane but...... Given a choice right now, I would be very hesitant to get on a plane.
If I felt I pretty much had to get on a plane - I would do it.

To answer 99's question. My guess is you will have many chances to see your Granddaughter again.
On the flip side, If I wanted to be morbid I could say tomorrow is promised to no one.
If I were in your shoes it would be a tough call for me.
Thanks for the definitive answer, gutter.
You could seriously calculate the number of exposures you and wife are likely to have traveling by plane and the number you face now in your daily life and see how they compare. Also, would you be likely to pass it on to your granddaughter from the exposure of traveling? Even though the youngest seem to survive it well, how about her parents?

ETA: Or perhaps just read this article about a guy who didn't inform the airline he had a pending test when he boarded and found out he was positive during the flight: https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2 ... -him-life/

I just wanna make sure my personal understanding is correct as far as science goes.

The virus doesn’t kill most people. Except boomers. And people with heart disease, diabetes, etc. then it’s about 1/6 (I read 16% somewhere...I’m least confident, or most resistant to believing this number).

Precautions are being taken to slow spread, which will flatten the normal distribution curve of the spread, lengthening in time but blunting in severity peak influence (active cases).

This whole thing is crazy. Apparently the spouse of someone in my office building in downtown KC has tested positive for covid-19. We've been highly suggested to work from home until further notice.

Grocery store this morning was a disaster.

Most likely nothing.
Seems like a real wild card.

But I think we have the proper people responding now for hopefully no more drastically bad measures.

At least one good thing can come out of the situation if they stop this foolishness 19ish years later.

It should spread more slowly in KC considering no public transportation, yes? :)

Already has. My office is shut down until further notice. Working from home for the next few weeks, which I hate because I get so bored being at home all day and my productivity is low.

Ohh! If local residents get access too then that’s an upgrade. Normally we’re just run off the road by yall’s Diallo trucks and suburbans.

And yes, my phone just autocorrected dually to Diallo.
