Must be upset it's been announced the entire Lakers team will be tested tomorrow too.

Honestly, I get it. It's not because they are rich and famous, so they get special treatment. They are getting tested for a 6 degrees of separation type of thing. The 5 days before Gobert tested positive, EVERY team in the league was somehow linked to each other.

If you're trying to slow it, why not test people you know were exposed to it instead of waiting for people with symptoms to come knocking.
The Junior Senator from Hawaii:

I'm not saying they aren't getting preferred treatment. I'm just trying to look at it from the side of the medical personnel doing the testing.

We have however many people that travel with an NBA team that we know were exposed to the virus. Should they be tested, or a different group who might have been exposed? Given what is known from each group, I'm going with the one where its known they were around it. Nothing to do with net worth or social class.
i don’t necessarily disagree that they should be tested, but stories continue to surface about people who have had contact and are actually symptomatic that can’t get tested

That's the same sentence that stuck with us.

re: 6 degrees of separation, that could certainly apply to NBA players. I am for most everyone being able to get tested, obviously. That's an easy position to defend.

But, the hospital beds need to go to the weak and vulnerable. And, to make sure they get there, they have to be first in line to be tested in the event that there is a shortage of tests.

Grandma's 5 Thoughts of the Day. Mid morning edition.

1) While ignorance may be bliss, it's also extremely dangerous.
2) Supposedly "we" will be getting checks from our government. I have a feeling because I am currently employed and I have no children - I won't be getting jack shit. And I am perfectly fine with that. I'm just left wondering how many people who happily accept the checks are the same people who scream against "socialism" and thought Yang was nuts for suggesting "freedom dividends".
3) I'm not sure how the USA can properly prepare for a virus outbreak but I am sure that we have not done as such.
4) Unfortunately too often "highly" educated does not equate to "highly" intelligent.
5) Having a need to FORCE people to work from home blows.

“As a 35 Year Flight Attendant with American Airlines and a Member of the Largest Single Carrier, Flight Attendant Union in the World.
FOR THE SECOND TIME IN MY CAREER.. I HAVE, JUSTIFIED FEAR ABOUT COMING TO WORK!
The first time was after 9-11. THE DIFFERENCE between Then and now? Then I believed my Airline was Doing EVERYTHING in their power to protect Crews and Customers!
This time the “Enemy” is a VIRUS WE cannot see and the Only way to combat IT is by ISOLATION!
I HAVE REAL FEARS ABOUT COMING TO WORK because my Airline and ALL Airlines that are Still Flying are IGNORING THE FACTS about CONTAINMENT!..
“The elephant in the room”, NO ONE IS ADDRESSING!..
*We Crew Members are:
-Continually Exposed to EVERYTHING COVID19..
The Biggest Issue being..
-We have ZERO.. Quarantine time from One Flight to the Next!
WHY ARE THE AIRLINES AND THE GOVERNMENT HALF HEARTEDLY ADDRESSING THIS?
Pointedly:
-On Domestic flights for instance we fly multiple segments (legs) per day 1 to 5 legs or segments with 100-200 passengers each segment all across America, Mexico and Canada spreading whatever “locally"!..
-On our International Flights.. We go from One Country/Continent to the Next.. During that time we are exposed to and Expose our customers.. 200-300 customers.. per flight.. per segment.. to everything we have been exposed to.. Then we turn around the next Day and Bring a whole new different set of passengers.. 200-300 of them, Back thus exposing a new set of people!..
HOW IN THE WORLD.. IS THIS PRACTICING "Social Distancing” with this Pandemic Virus called COVID19?!
Though we are Safety Professionals we are not provided respirators to safely protect ourselves or our Customers! During this Outbreak!
-Our Aircraft Connection Times are so Short.. the cleaning crews do NOT have Time to disinfect the planes properly! And if it is a through flight where the same Flight Attendants who served you food and drinks are now supposed to clean the aircraft!.. And then Serve food and beverages to the Next flight of customers! WE DO NOT HAVE BLEACH OR DISINFECTANT WIPES and do Not want More Exposure trying to clean!
FINALLY..
-We come home to our families.. some elderly some with weak immune systems.. and Expose them to Everything we have been exposed to!..
-In turn our Customers then Expose Their people/loved ones!.. ETC..
-HOW can we CONTAIN let alone STOP this aggressive COVID19 Virus?! While we are contributing to the Chain?!..
How in the World can Flight Crews be EXEMPT from Quarantine?.. When we are Daily exposed to Hundreds of people and the next day and next day etc..?!
Is there some sort of “code” that the Virus Knows and follows.. that Protects Crews and our Customers?!..
I am one of those flight attendants that loves and cares for my 87 year old mother! I want answers so I can protect her and all my Loved ones and so my customers can protect themselves and their people too!”
Sincerely, Susan Baldridge

Ironically, that's not the way it has worked in practice.

This is why we are reacting to not being proactive.

I’m patenting this as my contribution to doublespeak: retroactively proactive.

Donny is ready to nuke China.
HIS "economy" , the thing he has taken most pride in during his Presidency, is in the toilet right now. DJIA now DOWN below where it was when he took office. Can't boast about that anymore.
Said he didn't believe Mnuchin's prediction of a possible (potential?) 20% unemployment number. Then kind of backtracked and said that would be a worst case scenario. Actually, a 100% unemployment rate would be a worst case scenario.
I don't think the majority of people in this country are even vaguely understanding the financial impact this is having and will continue to have.
GIMME MY CHECK!!!!!!! Is going to be the new MAGA and THE ECONOMY real soon.

I guess scotch is the drink of choice for being locked up in your house. Sales up 80% over the previous week. Beer up a bit over 50%, rum/vodka/other whiskey up around 60%, tequila only around 30%

I read this earlier today.

Asked if well-connected people (celebrities, athletes, etc.) are getting tested before other people, Trump says, "Perhaps that's the story of life."

tiny is telling us the truth. We should all take that as fucking gospel.

Buckle up Buckeroos. This could change quickly.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.

It would be a start. Especially since the United States continues to be too inept to gather much of the data necessary to make informed decisions, and waiting until we can would only make the matter much worse.
