This is one aspect of the whole thing that has received far too little attention: food processing.

https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2020/03/24/thi ... -concerns/

If they shut down processing plants -- or if they can't keep them running because they can't take proper care of their employees -- the cascade of issues will be immense. A plant like this probably processes 50,000 chickens/week?

Shit show if they shut down -- all up and down the food-supply chain.

Young folks aren't taking it serious. Average age in the park was probably 23-25. Median age might have been less than that. I live near Columbia, so I might have skewed numbers. Can only report what I see in my neighborhood.
Yeah. I think that's right. But I don't think that's what trad meant.

I feel what she does best is muted due to her feeling the need to show up to pressers wearing very expensive designer clothing and scarves. But hey - good for her!

I have no idea what that means.

I know you think it's hi-larious (and sad at the same time) that the dum Red Staters don't take this seriously.

But I think you put too much stock in the musings of a senior editor at a magazine owned by the Emerson Collective.

no, that’s exactly what i meant

i’m looking for the data and can’t seem to find it right now, but the polling i saw indicated that women were more concerned than men (not really surprising) and that blacks were more concerned than any other race

I think Ezekial has taken undeserved shots for speaking in evidence-based terms over saying what's popular in the past. But he's generally right. Like here.

Nice to see someone speak decisively about what needs to be done, for a change. I think he spoke more comprehensively about a plan in that one article than all the information that's been disseminated at all the WH briefings, put together.

It’s just not realistic. You can’t lock people down for two or three months and expect there to be anything left when it is over. People can’t go that long without an income. People who live alone can’t go that long without seeing family and friends. Heck, even the prison system doesn’t allow criminals to be placed in solitary confinement for that long.

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
