India has polling places virtually “right up to our doorstep,” and coincidentally their voter turnout kicks our’s ass.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:41 pmMaybe people should have some respect for the cost of freedom. Yeah, Leawood should have to go all the way out to Bonner Springs to vote.
(And boy is he gonna he disappointed when he learns that all along he’s been mispronouncing “Bonner.”)

Why close the original?ousdahl wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:44 pm The ACLU of Kansas filed a lawsuit seeking a temporary restraining order against Ford County Clerk Debbie Cox last week after she closed the sole polling location in a city with a near 60 percent Latino population and opened a site out of town.
The ACLU argued that the new polling site, at an exposition center, is not accessible by public transportation and is on a route with few sidewalks.
“Additionally, the total travel time from a centrally located part of Dodge City to the Expo Center would take approximately ninety minutes each way for a voter using public transportation,” the suit charged.

Town that size should have more than one.

Griping that people dont want to travel half a day to vote. But then, screams about people walking thousands of miles to hopefully be able to someday.
Re: VoTeR FrAuD!!!
If it disenfranchises people who are of Hispanic heritage, Psych is pleased, what’s new?
You hit a lawyer of hispanic heritage and get arrested for it because you thought he was just another Latino that you could bully...maybe you continue to need to bully others of Hispanic heritage?

One group supposedly has the right to cast a vote and is complaining about it being inconvenient to do so; the other has neither the right to be in this country nor the right to vote. False equivalency.jeepinjayhawk wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 2:18 pmLMAO at Psych.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sat Nov 03, 2018 1:41 pmMaybe people should have some respect for the cost of freedom. Re: VoTeR FrAuD!!!
Attended a meeting last night where a bunch of young people of color who are out there registering voters and doing everything to Get Out The Vote were present. It was interesting to see that the reemergence of the heavy duty Racists and their Dog Whistles is energizing young folks who weren't that much involved in the recent past.
Those who spend their time trying to drum up hate are having a great effect--not one they want, but it's interesting to see the energy from these young folks who are realizing that if they don't do something, this generation of George Wallace wannabes will disenfranchise them.

Well, it looks like the ACLU and volunteers have figured out how to get around the local racist elections folks.
