Mrs Newton is now likely going to do travel nursing to a Covid hotspot and go that way as we can’t afford the unemployment as it stands now in Kansas even with the expansion.

I’d appreciate some good thoughts headed my way during this time. It’s tough going for sure. I’m hoping for the absolute best.
Sorry to hear it. Thinking of you and Mrs. Newton.

Thanks all. Very strange times. She’s hoping to stay close to the area to be close to the 3 younger Hawklets that we have but she won’t have much choice from what it seems.

If, by any chance, she ends up in the NYC-area, let me know, and I'll make sure she is well-fed and any other amenities I can offer. We need folks up here, and our dorms are being turned into housing for nurses and other medical officials.

Wishing you guys the best Newton. I feel for those and their families that are on the frontlines of this pandemic. I gripe about my life (being single and being stuck at home), but I have it pretty lucky. Worrying about the ones you love is the toughest.

Hoping for the best.

I'd think there would be a need for nurses in Wichita, but no idea on that for sure.
I would think so too.

Sorry to hear it Newton! Please express how sorry I am and give your wife a gigantic thank you from me. Although she was furloughed, there will always be a need for her services - somewhere - now and in the future.
Related note, it's a beautiful day in Chicago and I felt the need to take a walk. Decided to walk over to Northwestern Hospital to thank the doctors and nurses I saw walking around on the sidewalk/s. Felt it was the least I could do.

Best to you and Mrs Newton. Sending happy juju your way and hope she finds something suitable quickly and not far from home. One of our close friends is in the ICU recovering from the virus-caused illness - it was a bit scary for a while (late last week) but everyone believes that the worst is behind. Another close friend is a respiratory therapist in the same hospital and she was commenting about how she doesn't have time to be exhausted. These are the heroes. Thanks for her/your service and sacrifices!

Crap, that's rough. Good luck to you and especially to your wife. We all do what we have to do to survive; I hope this works out well for you both and that you get through it safe.

That sucks. Mrs 99 has had a hard time getting hours. The ER has been very slow and their nurses are being floated to the floors. The one time I was in the ER, it was mostly homeless people. I imagine most were looking for drugs. They are currently staying away from the hospital, too many sick people.

She is working tonight. I figure happy hour will start after the grass is mowed.
