Where TF is the "Conservative Republicans Are Draining the Swamp So Fast, You Can't Keep Up!", thread?

Earlier this month, as the urgency of the coronavirus crisis sunk in for people or presidents who’d previously brushed it off, we learned that a handful of senators who’d downplayed the risks of the virus for months had also conveniently dumped millions in stock before the market fell off a cliff. Among the group was Georgia’s Kelly Loeffler, who reportedly sold stocks worth between $1,275,000 and $3,100,000 between January 24—when she sat in on a meeting of lawmakers, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases—and mid-February, not long before she tweeted: “Democrats have dangerously and intentionally misled the American people on #Coronavirus readiness. Here’s the truth: @realDonaldTrump & his administration are doing a great job working to keep Americans healthy & safe.” Now, new disclosures show even more selling of stocks in the weeks that followed, plus an extremely well-timed investment in a company that just happens to make the sort of medical equipment that is in extremely short supply at the moment.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, between February 26 and March 11, Loeffler and her husband, Jeff Sprecher, who is the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, sold $18.7 million worth of shares of the Intercontinental Exchange (the parent company of the NYSE). During that same time period, the couple also sold shares in retail companies like T.J. Maxx and Lululemon. And then there’s this:

Sprecher bought $206,774 in chemical giant DuPont de Nemours in four transactions in late February and early March. DuPont has performed poorly on Wall Street lately, but the company is a major supplier of desperately needed personal protective gear as the global pandemic strains hospital and first responders.

It's kind of amazing to see two people who seem dedicated to living up to every stereotype about Congress Critters and Wall Streeters.

I doubt we can imagine how thoroughly Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp must regret having put his neck on the block for choosing Loeffler over Doug Collins, Trump's choice to fill Isakson's seat. I have to admit when I heard that Collins wasn't appointed, I was not only relieved, but found it hard to believe.

And while we're on the subject, in yet another confirmation that "Everything Trump Touches Dies", how humiliating must it be for this guy to have so eagerly attached himself, and his legacy, to Trump:

Trump campaign calls Sessions ‘delusional’ in letter

President Donald Trump’s campaign has sent a letter to Jeff Sessions, his former attorney general now running for a U.S. Senate seat, objecting to Sessions’ portrayal of himself as a Trump supporter in a campaign mailer.

The March 31 letter sent by Michael S. Glassner, chief operating officer of Donald J. Trump for President, accused Sessions of attempting to “misleadingly promote your connections to and ‘support’ of Trump,” in the campaign mailer that mentioned Trump’s name 22 times.

“The letter even makes the delusional assertion that you are President ‘Trump’s #1 Supporter,’” Glassner wrote.

...

Wounded by the fallout of that soured relationship in the Trump-loving state, Sessions was forced into a runoff with former Auburn University football coach Tommy Tuberville in the Republican primary. Tuberville led Sessions in the first round of voting. The winner will face incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Doug Jones in November in the once reliably red state.

The letter from the Trump campaign read: “We want to be absolutely clear about it: President Trump and the Trump Campaign unambiguously endorse Tommy Tuberville.” The letter was first reported by The New York Times.

No way!!!

U.S. Sen. David Perdue’s financial portfolio saw heavy trading during the month of March, a period during which Congress passed three different spending bills to address the spread of COVID-19 and the markets took a turn for the worse.

The report lists 112 transactions, including 76 stock purchases costing as much as $1.8 million and 34 sales worth up to $825,000. Compared with the 26-month period before the coronavirus swept across America, Perdue’s portfolio activity has increased nearly threefold. There were an average of 38 individual transactions in monthly reports from January 2018 through February 2020.

Perdue logged 82 transactions on the report dated March 3. The report filed Sunday includes 110 stock-related line items.

Trump just removed the acting Inspector General for the Defense Department, Glenn Fine, meaning that he will no longer chair the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee that was tasked with oversight of the $2 trillion emergency coronavirus funding. But I am sure Trump will fill that gap ASAP just like he has all of the other important jobs that have come open in the federal government. Oh, wait...

What could possibly go wrong with no independent federal oversight of $2 trillion?!?

Hey guys! Let's insist that everyone who works for him is a Nazi! Let's chase them down in restaurants and harass their kids! Let's make sure they never work again!

And then, let's be OutRAgeD! when he can't fill positions in his administration!

Wisconsin voting today, 5 polling locations in Milwaukee instead of the usual 180.

To quote someone familiar: "lulz"

I agree. Criminal indictments/convictions, conflicts of interests or shady pasts of the nominees usually have nothing do with them not being able to pass a simple background check or the confirmation process!
