Adamantly against similar levels of contact tracing used by other countries even if it saves lives.
Any more excuses for the government to get increased surveillance capabilities is a big no from me.
If green lit, I would refuse to take my cell phone out of my home on principle.

Re: Where's the petri dish thread?
Contrary to Trump's claim yesterday that he has "total authority" to do whatever he wants, in today's propaganda "briefing", in addition to doing a 180 degree turn and putting "opening up" on all the states individually in an obvious effort to escape responsibility, now he's claiming that testing is up to the states, not the federal government. How in the F*^% are we still having this conversation about "testing"? We've been listening to him lie over and over about the progress of "testing" for over 2 months! WTF? Why is the testing not already happening? This is incompetence on steroids, during a pandemic! "Testing" is the rate limiting step in so much that needs to be done to get our arms around the pandemic. Without testing, we're still effectively fumbling around in the dark. Months later, after all the lies and promises about "anyone who wants a test can get one", and Trump's lie that everyone entering the country is being "tested", he's trying to put "testing" on the states now, too. WTF is this, the Twilight Zone? It's a pandemic!
Trump: "I don't take responsibility at all".
And, how many times do we have to listen to him try to defend his abject failure by invoking his "total" shutdown of travel from China, which wasn't in any regard, "total"?

Ok guys, I get it but something tells me you're not really going to leave your cell phone/s at home if that were to happen.
Kind of reminds me of all those said they were going to leave the country if/when Trump was elected - and didn't.

Today In: "Only I Can Fix It":
Coronavirus testing hits dramatic slowdown in U.S. Despite efforts to expand, the continued glitches in the U.S. testing system are threatening to impede attempts to re-open the economy and return to normal life.
The number of coronavirus tests analyzed each day by commercial labs in the U.S. plummeted by more than 30 percent over the past week, even though new infections are still surging in many states and officials are desperately trying to ramp up testing so the country can reopen.
...The continued glitches in the U.S. testing system are threatening to impede attempts to reopen the economy and return to normal life. Expanding testing as much as possible is essential so officials have enough data to determine when it’s safe to lift social distancing measures and allow people to go back to work. Continued testing beyond that point will help officials detect — and stamp out — sparks that could set off new outbreaks....
(FDA Commissioner) Hahn’s comments came as the American Clinical Laboratory Association reported that the number of samples commercial labs handle each day fell from 108,000 on April 5 to 75,000 by April 12. The group’s members, including commercial giants Quest and LabCorp, analyze about two-thirds of all coronavirus tests in the U.S.
...“ACLA members have now eliminated testing backlogs, and have considerable capacity that is not being used,” ACLA President Julie Khani told POLITICO. “We stand ready to perform more testing and are in close communication with public health partners about ways we can support additional needs.”
The Department of Health of Human Services has also seen a downtick in the number of tests analyzed nationwide in recent days, a spokesperson said.

Re: Where's the petri dish thread?
so, according to trump, testing is the states’ responsibility...except it’s not when those doing the testing are beholding to the CDC
similarly, i keep hearing on the local news that everyone should get tested, yet have been turned away from testing despite being in contact with those who’ve tested positive
this is such an utter clusterfuck

Incompetence would be bad enough by itself, but the daily "briefings" with the constant lying and deflecting in an attempt to avoid responsibility and lay the blame on the media, democrats, governors, "VaChina!", and now the World Health Organization, (Real question: Who am I forgetting?), only make it several times worse. Much worse. We deserve the truth.
