Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
That's too bad.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
Serious question: did you even read that story -- I mean...the whole thing?

Not mentioned (at least that I saw) nor implied is that none of the Europeans have to worry about their healthcare being covered. They can go to a doctor and be treated same as before.
Tying ourselved to employer-paid healthcare is probably the single biggest contributing factor to stifling entrepreneurship and growth in this country.
Re: COVID-19 - On the Ground
yes, did you?
just spit out whatever problem you have with it...that is, if you actually want to have a discussion about it
i feel really fortunate that my direct employer is based in the U.K., as they just have a different mindset. i haven’t been concerned for one second that i’m going to lose my job/salary, even if forced to take off time due to a covid infection. my company was recently purchased by an American based “umbrella” company, yet we maintain a decent amount of autonomy. the employees that aren’t under my U.K.-based company, but rather under the broader US-based company, are already facing reduced work-weeks and salaries.

Yeah, I read it, which is why I doubted that you did.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:55 pmyes, did you?

I actually DON'T want to have a discussion -- largely because your OP is proof that the facts of the story are irrelevant to you and you just want to piss and moan about something.

This Is Your Daily Reminder, that the Trump Administration is in federal court right now arguing to end you and your family's coverage for pre-existing conditions, allow insurance companies to charge women more than men for identical coverage and end all the other benefits of the ACA. And, they have absolutely no plan for how to replace it.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 3:27 pmThanks, FDR?zsn wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:26 pmNot mentioned (at least that I saw) nor implied is that none of the Europeans have to worry about their healthcare being covered. Don't know who to thank for this gift that keeps on giving. If it will stroke your "put down of the New Deal"-fetish, sure; why not. We have changed a lot of things from those days, for the better, except for this one. In some way, this is a form of indentured servitude where one depends on their current employer for healthcare, where the Master just gets handed off from the current-past-to-current-future.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 3:27 pmThanks, FDR?zsn wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 2:26 pmNot mentioned (at least that I saw) nor implied is that none of the Europeans have to worry about their healthcare being covered. Seriously, though, our health insurance situation is a direct product of war-time wage and price policy, namely the Stabilization Act of 1942 and the Revenue Act of 1942. Wages were frozen, but fringe benefits could be offered and would NOT be taxed. Therefore, health insurance became THE lure for employees.

Seems maybe a little more intelligent than asking if heat and light has been looked at for a cure.jeepinjayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:27 pm Also posted in DFIC thread:

Yeah, was it me, or did he say that you could put UV light "inside" of people?
