Re: F the NCAA
Good, bad or somewhere in between...sub-NBA basketball right now is defined by the freshman-age players. Chasing them away chases a TON of the audience and attention away. And things Cascadia from there.
Re: F the NCAA
Ok.
But if one league grows in popularity, I dunno how the other league can maintain.
You think more average fans wanna watch the Mitch Lightfoots or the Andrew Wigginses?

Re: F the NCAA
Is there any precedent for an entertainment company loosing its top talent?
I just don’t wanna marginalize college hoops. I want to maintain it as the 2nd best league in the land, and thee best place to showcase burgeoning talent.

BWW Chad can do whatever he wants.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:18 amIt's a KU fan bubble. While we're all devouring Big Monday, more people are watching Monday Night Raw.
If he wants to dip into the mango habanero Monday night while cheering for the Undertaker, more power to the guy.
I'll watch Marcus Garrett score 25 against Iowa State.

And Chad will still tune into March Madness even if it doesn't have Zion.
Re: F the NCAA
And what if you can’t watch Marcus Garrett cuz BWW Chad asked the bartender to put G league on the TV instead?
Re: F the NCAA
Something like ESPN+.jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:22 amOn what?pdub wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:21 amBWW Chad can do whatever he wants.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:18 am

I can pay 5 bucks a month if it means watching Kansas and not the KC Phogushers.

Re: F the NCAA
Anyone know which ESPN Washburn's games are on?
Re: F the NCAA
I'm sure BWW will have other TVs and a wide subscription of sports channels.
If women's volleyball can make the cut somewhere, men's basketball void of the top 50 recruits will be OK.
Re: F the NCAA
Yeah, but the other TVs are showing Monday night raw
Re: F the NCAA
Would 2017 have been more or less fun with Billy?
Or would 2019 have been more or less fun with Silvio?

Re: F the NCAA
Less for me because it's closer to a pro sport and I can watch the NBA for that.
Re: F the NCAA
ESPN TopTown
Re: F the NCAA
And is there any evidence that growing the G league would cut back on the shady recruiting and dirty money in college ball? Is that suddenly gonna be taken over by a bunch of puritanical angels?
What if college ball is (and always has been) much closer to the kc phogushers than you’d like to think?

But ending the age restriction to the NBA and making the G League lucrative will get more of the kids who don't have interest in attending college to play in the pros which means less money in college basketball.
