No doubt the elite will be mighty disappointed if the numbers aren’t spikey. Can’t keep the rabble under the thumb if the numbers aren’t there.

I know. It's expensive to bury a loved one these days.
Ok, that was cynical b.s. from me.
Let me ask you this, wouldn't it be nice if MORE people really gave a fuck about how "economic impact" affects minimum wage workers in this country? BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER this crisis?
Hypocritical bullshit abounds.

Enough with the paranoid delusionals.

Minnesota, Kansas, Arizona, Virginia, and Wisconsin all had their highest number of donfirmed COVID-19 cases ever, yesterday, April 30th.

New Jersey, South Carolina, and Iowa all had their deadliest days due to COVID-19 ever yesterday.

So, why wouldn't we open up?

13 states had over 1,000 new cases today including Georgia and Tennessee.
Colorado about 500 new.

And those likely aren't even the result of reopening because it hasn't been long enough to see those impacts.

Slowly but surely rural counties in IL sheriff depts are making announcements they're not enforcing the governors rules forcing businesses to be closed or for people to wear masks and numerous other things. Figured it was only a matter of time. I'm in a larger county. Our police are still breaking up gatherings and keeping people off playgrounds etc.

Wide spread community support is all I have seen....so don't think that will be the case. All the posts by the sheriffs depts encourage common sense and to take the recommended social guidelines seriously, but basically said that they're not arresting people or enforcing "rules" because they're not "laws".

People shouldn’t be arrested for not wearing a mask.

Guideline yes.
Law no.

Texas too. We reopened our doors yesterday.

Agree 100%.

Was funny yesterday when I was sitting in a public park where they have a "dog park" area.
One dog attacked another dog. A few people FREAKED out. It was very unnerving for me.
The assumed owner of the attacked dog went off on the assumed owner of the dog that attacked.
Someone felt the need to call the police.
Miraculously the police showed up in less than 5 minutes.
As soon as the police pulled up, people who were not wearing masks - started putting masks on.
I laughed.
The "rule"/"mandate" in Illinois is - "Individuals must wear a "face-covering or mask when in a public place where they can't maintain a six-foot social distance. It applies to anyone over the age of 2 who are able to medically tolerate a face-covering or a mask."
What could the police have done if people were not wearing a mask within 6 feet of one another - other than tell them to put one on?
Nothing that I have seen/heard states people would be "fined". Perhaps they would be?

Disturbing the peace, creating a public nuisance, there is always something they could be charged with.

Since I'm apparently too stupid to understand what is happening in our country, I was hoping one of our resident smart/educated folks could help me with this:

The COVID-19 Dashboard via Johns Hopkins lists U.S. deaths due to COVID-19 at 67,451 as of right this moment.

By contrast, the CDC released their most recent numbers on May 1st, listing COVID-19 deaths as 37,308.
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

Now, I'm no rocket surgeon, but, according to my calculations, that means that the gummint is revising its fatality numbers by ~30,000. Note that the CDC chart says that we have achieved 97% of expected deaths as of May 1.

Explain, please.
