Re: 2020 offseason thread
I've always been for resuming the mizzou football game. I don't see downsides like I do in basketball. campus-campus-camarohead would seem to work fine.

Re: 2020 offseason thread
If we are playing them in basketball might as well make it football too.
A true home and away with the last game played at Arrowhead would be cool. Now if KU could field a competent team that would be even better.

IMO, Long strikes
1. Beaty crap
2. Mizzo crap
One more strike and he should be out.

Those pale in comparison to his initial handling of FBI and Silvio stuff.

Yes. Strike. He knew what the plan was, own it. It was meant as a fuck you to the NCAA, so let it be that.

Re: 2020 offseason thread
Was reading an old article (predraft) from The Ringer about Jalen Hurts and mobile QBs, and did anyone realize this nugget?
Russell Wilson's personal QB coach is none other than the ultra-successful former Jayhawk, Jake Heaps. He's even quoted in the article a few times.
Weird, but interesting in a sports-less quarantine time.

Yeah Heaps was with Seattle multiple times for camp, practice squad, etc. Grew close to Wilson then and he started helping Russell during off season. I think Heaps knows his shit. He just can't physically do it.

Re: 2020 offseason thread
I don't know, I wonder how guys like Crist, Heaps and Willis would have been here with proper staffs.
Even Pick, Webb, Cozart, or the guy who was the best this last decade, Cummings.
Stanley was OK under Dearmon, but really think we saw all he had to offer.

Re: 2020 offseason thread
Heaps Crist and Willis all struggled no matter where they were. Crist at ND was average. Heaps struggled at BYU, KU AND Miami. Willis had a hot start at both KU and VaTech, but defenses figured him out and he fell off both places. And don't get me started on Willis. It always seemed to be something according to him. Coaches, injuries, etc. Not much fell on his shoulders.
I am excited to see Dearmon's types of QBs. He did quite a bit with Stanley like you mentioned. Hit Stanley's ceiling I think. Hoping that whoever it is this year (MacVittie, Kendrick or Daniels) takes some great strides.

Re: 2020 offseason thread
Heaps had a decent frosh campaign from what I recall. Didn't Crist have to deal with Weis at ND, too? Yes, Willis was always a head case.
You're probably right that none were world beaters, but didn't at least Crist and Heaps get picked up for training camps? And then Cozart and Willis playing, maybe not well, at better programs. I think a good number of them had the talent, but how do you develop with so many moving parts and what have proven to be bad staffs?

Re: 2020 offseason thread
Yeah that's true. It's been a shitty run for Kansas football with hires and coaches in and out of the program fast.
I think you and I are on the same page about this. Miles is at least running a competent program. The strides just in the confidence around the program are evident. The operation is better. The support staff is better. Everything about the football program is better than it has been since Mangino.
