I think you meant to use the past tense. Knowing what people know about him now I seriously doubt that he would be able to raise much VC money now. At least from "legitimate" VC community. There are probably some oligarchs who may give him some money as a means to launder it. His more recent ventures are completely bogus and a way to stroke his ego than anything. I say this as a shareholder of Tesla and I believe in that company. It is doing well in spite of Musk, not because of him.
