Constructive.
You're the worst. Just the fucking worst.

This is what's called "mirror-imaging." You, in your self-absorption, attribute your internal dialogue to everyone else around you. Because you think "x" and because you see yourself as a reasonable person, you think all reasonable people also think "x." This is narcissism defined.

Guess what? The only person you know was a coward in the Confederate flag incident is twocoach. The rest is your attempt to impose your own cowardice on everyone else.
And my comment was different than your "No. We're delusional, not cowardly." in what way?

I'm referencing a civilizational/societal ethos, rather than attributing my personal feelings and beliefs to other specific individuals.

And I merely provided an example of my own (in)action as an example of what I see so many others also doing in civilization/society.

A real world example vs. a textbook example. One works for you; one works for me. Again, feel free to put me on ignore if my posts are too stupid for you to handle without hurling insults in response.

I still think DC is one of the smartest people on the bored.
Just wish he'd come out of the current president closet.

dude does seem torn.

he does seem to realize that Trump is a shithead both personally and professionally, and doesn't seem to like Trump in the same way much of the MAGA crowd likes him.

But on the other hand, he also seems almost thrilled with Trump, or maybe just some effect of Trump. Instead of just acknowledging he's a shithead, it's like he'd rather normalize the guy, and defend with the vague deflections and the whataboutisms and the lulz.

Maybe it's not the pissed off MAGA basket of deplorables who got Trump elected. It's the DC types apparently too consumed by the sense of winning, or the power grab, or the rallying of the GOP, or the spiting of the libs, or the whatever, to just go ahead and speak up otherwise.

Seems strange in a thread about 2 white guys killing a black man in a state from the old Confederacy to end up trying to normalize guys that put Confederate flags on their trucks. Especially when the Confederate flag truck guy doesn't even have the rationale of honoring ancestors that fought at Columbus or Pickett's Mill.

The irony in an uppity, know-it-all East Coast conservative academic calling a less educated liberal Midwesterner "the fucking worst" instead of listening to his personal experiences about how things really are on the streets of his communities is especially chuckle-worthy after spending the last three years being told that uppity, know-it-all East Coast liberal academics calling less educated conservative Midwesterners "deplorable" instead of listening to their personal experiences about how things really are on the streets of their communities is a reason we're in this Trump nightmare.

There's a significant difference between being thrilled with Trump and being perpetually annoyed that y'all keep demonstrating over and over and over again why so many people believe that he's not substantively worse than the Dems -- and worse yet, why they are, in many case right.

A fucking dildo admits his own cowardice, projects that on to everyone else in a crowd, bawls when I make fun of him for it, has his tears dried by posters who think that it's MY fault and that it normalizes sumpin' sumpin', and your reaction is to wonder about the lulz.

Nutz.

Also: Maybe it's not the pissed off MAGA basket of deplorables who got Trump elected. It's the DC types apparently too consumed by the sense of winning

If by "DC types" you mean people like me, then, no. There are no "DC types." I'm a party of one.

If by "DC types" you mean George Conway. And Paul Ryan. And Mittens Romney. Then yes. A thousand times yes.

Sorry, I shouldn’t put it as DC types.

But there does appear to be some critical mass of conservatives who publicly don’t like Trump, criticize him, don’t support him, yet still gave him their vote at the ballot box.

Yes.

One would think, four years later, that that might prompt some self-reflection.

But nah.

People who might want those of us in that position NOT to give their vote to him.

What is it, you might ask yourself, that makes our guy and our party MORE repulsive than Trump, whom we already know they hate?

That said, I didn't and I won't.

yeah, we know.

Lots of conservatives say they didn’t and they won’t. Yet somehow he still got elected.

And somehow liberals are responsible for who conservatives vote for.

And...there goes even the thought of self-reflection.

Oh. Well.

If he's elected again, maybe you should call his voters ignorant hillbillies somemore and see if it helps.

And what is about other guy and the other party that you find more repulsive than Trump?

Liberals aren't responsible for who conservatives vote for.

....but liberals are responsible for who they nominate and if people refuse to vote for that nominee.

The point is that, in this instance, there are good people on both sides. I’m sure there will be evidence to justify what happened that will satisfy Trump voters.
