2014 Royals

Showing the playoffs on Fox Midwest in KC. Forgot how fun that was.

Takes your mind off things.

Makes think of how shitty they are again. But I’m trying to live in the present. :)

So much more fun than 2015. Just the sheer improbability of...well, ALL of it.

2015 was not fun until Game 5 of WS.

Not sure that's true. The Astros series was a blast, after the near-death experience. Shutting up Bautista and Toronto was great. Gordo-dong off Familia in Game 1 was one of the cooler moments.

But that doesn't compare to the month of suspended reality - and suspended life - that kicked off on September 30, 2014.

Astros series was probably the lowest point until the comeback. I think it was Game 2 in Kauffman when the crowd was deathly quiet. Toronto result was fun.

But, 2015 had too much of a 2008, 2011, etc. type Kansas feel to it. Supposed to win. The aftermath was great, though. Better than Chiefs a lot b/c of weather, and a different feel.

Man, 2014 was WILD. CnB is right through. Once Royals got Cueto and Zobrist, it was almost a sure thing.

2014 was wild. Finnegan was a stud those playoffs. All the extra inning games. Beating the 1 and 2 seeds with ease. Sweeping all the way through.

That WS was really good too. Teams just traded blows. MadBum just so good that postseason. SanFran was the 2nd WC team that year. And they go through their side fairly easily too.

But man. Lester was cruising in that WC game. Then the Royals just did little things here and there. So crazy.

I will always have my live sports event ranking as: 1. 2008 NC Game 2. 2014 AL WC Game. 3. Everything else.

More emotionally invested in 08, so it gets the nod. WC game may have been the better overall game.

I attended Game 7 of 2014 WS.

Would gladly pay that price again. Was an unbelievable experience

Would want to think about it, but this game would go on my list:

Dome baseball was goal-to-go.
