Whats that supposed to mean? I grew up in Kansas as a jayhawk and Im a lifelong jayhawk, its in my blood. I'd wager I'm as diehard a jayhawk fan as there is here. If you are suggesting otherwise I'd like to hear your reasoning. We may not agree on much feral but i do respect you, its disappointing to hear thats not reciprocated.

Funny, I'm doing NOTHING from home.
Man, work is making sure I’m staying busy. It’s like the workload doubled

I would think we can all agree that you can't be a real JayHawk fan and not appreciate a fellow passionate JayHawk fan, like sdoyel.

I very much have a “busy as I want to be” setup, and given the uncertainty of it all, I’ve also been working more. Easy to ignore 9-5 when you live in your workspace.

I’m sure you’re in a similar spot where anyone that is fortunate to have their job through this it is a bring in as much as you can while you can mentality.

So "real jayhawks" are single minded people with no room for other opinions and different lines of thought? Dont think so. Over the years i have probably given doyel less shit than most here and yet you single me out as not a jayhawk fan because I dont like the guy? Odd logic.

Speaking of working from home, my 1500-person firm announced the return-to-work measures they have been working on for weeks. It's damn complicated... Fortunately, Phase 1 is entirely voluntary so I'm staying at home for the foreseeable future.

As one can imagine, complications in an open-office environment are plentiful. You can't sit next to someone, have to stay on your floor, have to "schedule" what day you plan to come in, etc, etc...

Working from home is still encouraged by our CEO. The office can only allow 25% capacity at any given time.

To be honest, I was originally kidding, but when you bit, I ran with it. Sorry.

Except, although I realize this place is testosterone toxic with all the territory marking, etc., that follows, I kinda enjoy the various characters who follow the game threads, get excited, and comment, and that certainly includes a character and fellow KU fan, like sdoyel.

I'm in phase 4, which won't be until mid August...sigh. Shouldn't complain, but man, it's getting old being home all the freaking time.

We are technically allowed back in the buildings after last Monday. Our team's policy is that we should go in if a meeting HAS to be done face to face or we need to touch a server. Other than that work from home. Looks like that will be the policy for the foreseeable future.

I went in Monday to get my docking station for my laptop and a few other things, like my Yeti mug :). I have a pretty similar work station set up at home with dual monitors, which are mine, but just a little smaller. The best part is I can crank music loud when I start to get tired...lol I've got a thumping sub-woofer and 4 speakers in my home office. Or I just listen to the news on my TV.

Our company started WFH about a week before the Bay Area counties instituted the rule, about 10 days before the State of California did the Shelter-at-home. As a biotech our business is considered essential although we are a fully virtual company since all of our clinical trials and enabling matters (production and testing of trial materials etc.) are done by contract organizations. We are not involved in antivirals.

As such, we are allowed to go to the office for essential things (getting/approving key documents, as an example). We have quickly validated electronic document signing protocols and that is not now not needed. The company will reimburse if we wanted to buy monitors, printer/scanners or other business-justified accessories. We have been told to expect that we will open only 2-3 weeks after the county/State reopens and even then to expect WFH until the end of the year.

Happy to report that Kentucky is one of only two states that meets the White House guidelines for reopening. Thank you Governor Andy Beshear.
