Don't know if many of you are seeing the same Trump ads as we are here in a swing state, but I've never thought that the Trump campaign's attempt to slime Biden by trying to make him appear "soft" on China, was likely to bear much fruit.

Nice ad? Anyone with a brain would realize the hypocrisy.
Begins by saying "Trump can't run on his record so he's running negative ads attacking Joe Biden".
Two wrongs make a right?
I have been saying for the last 30 years that I much prefer candidates who run on the premise of why THEY are a good candidate and not why their opponent isn't a good candidate.
I didn't vote for Hillary nor Donald in 2016 and have a strong feeling I won't vote for Joe or Donald in 2020. Buncha JUNK!

I don’t think it’s either-or. A candidate is expected to both show his/her strengths and point out why the opponent is unsuitable for the job. It’s the ratio of positive to negative ads which should be the determining factor not that the candidate is running a negative ad

I do agree he's not always sharp (and not even remotely as sharp as Klobuchar for example), but his speaking mixups are largely due to his stuttering issues...

I'm terrified of public speaking (I don't stutter or say "umm" or anything like that i just don't like it because I'm relatively shy in a setting like that with a bunch of strangers)...in college I had a class that 25% of our grade was based on a 20-30min speech/presentation...needless to say I busted my ass on tests so that I had a 90% going into that speech and then took a 0 on it LOL....finished with like a 63% (D-)....but hey, in Carbondale "Ds get degrees". Not my proudest moment, but we've all got choices to make and options to weigh.

I've listened to all his podcasts in a can't-look-away-from-trainwreck fascination. I'm convinced he's had a stroke. On a platform completely controlled by his campaign he sounds completely lost.

3 Thoughts.

1) He's not "well". Mentally and physically. Not only can you hear he is not well, you can see it too.

2) I have said to some of my family members, I am ashamed at his family.
His family supposedly means the world to him. I assume he had a conversation with them before he decided to announce his candidacy. They actually supported him in his run for President? They honestly want/ed to see him go through a Presidential campaign and then serve as the President of the United States? It's practically sadistic to me.

3) The Dems (DNC and voters) should be ashamed. Their candidate is a guy who is 77 years old (will be 78 on Inauguration Day) and is clearly losing his mental faculties. Where/what is the logic in that? Is the belief that he is the #1 person in the party who they feel has the best chance to not only beat Donald Trump but will also be a great person to serve 4 (or 8) years as the President of the United States? Come on! Really? WTF!?!?

convention planners have "recognized that large-scale events would need to look different in light of COVID-19."

organizers would follow guidelines from federal, state and local authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

attendees may wear masks or hold some events in smaller venues or outside.

Republicans, including North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis, have cast doubt on the feasibility of moving ahead as planned. Tillis has said that hosting the party's convention could be "very difficult" under these circumstances.

Democrats have delayed the Democratic National Convention, originally planned for the week of July 13 in Milwaukee, pushing it back to the week of Aug. 17. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has tossed out suggestions that include shortening the convention or spacing out attendees in a "gigantic stadium."

#bothsidesaredoingit 🙄

I know we want to make this a political thing, but I know plenty of democrat business owners in my city pushing to go back to normal immediately. Yes, many rural areas are primarily republican, and those areas think this is a big city issue (which it sort of is when you look at "the numbers", but small towns are also being impacted)...but it's not simply Republicans think this is fake and democrats don't. Not everything splits exactly on party lines no matter how badly some want it to so that they can say their side is "right" and the other side is "wrong".

((Edit: none of that is directed specifically at you...i golfed with a die hard republican yesterday who owns a daycare and works in a prison (hates Trump *especially now*, but did vote for him in 2016 because he couldn't bring himself to vote for Clinton or a Dem *full disclosure*, he is taking this seriously and thinks its "real". He is losing money each month being closed (they're continuing to pay their employees even though they're mostly closed other than assisting with childcare for essential workers in various ways), but thinks safety over money is right at the moment, but it can't go on forever obviously. Although he does think to an extent people have to make their own choices at some point about what is safe for them and what isn't (like with gyms and restaurants etc.). Just an example of how this is a unique situation.))

Obviously, Biden's no Trump.

One of Trump's best speeches was July 4th, 2019, when he inspired us all about our brave soldiers defending our airports during the Revolutionary War:
