it all sucks, and imo does more harm than good on multiple levels

But this attitude also rubs me wrong==we're taking it all too seriously now.

Like a teenage girl, I've been more into instagram lately because it truly is just a mindless time-waster. My twitter feed is also still pretty tailored and I can avoid a lot of the viral stuff.

imo, it’s wrecking people’s attention spans, their “ability” to actually read and write the english language, and their sense of reality...it is more harmful than good for people’s self-perception, and exacerbates mental health issues

i suppose, though, that it’s like most things...a little bit, or in moderation, it’s ok and may even be useful

sure, particularly with tv

but, there has also been a notable increase in the time spent staring at screens, due in large part to 1) social media and 2) increased access (everyone has a smart phone)

study after study indicate a negative impact in people’s’ health and well-being because of it...for both kids and adults

There's no denying there are negative health effects of being in front of screens all day and seeking endorphin releasing buzzes, alerts, etc. (Ronnie Chieng has a great bit on this on Netflix).
