The white police officer arrested and charged with the murder of George Floyd is allegedly on effective suicide watch and being checked in on around the clock.

TMZ reported Saturday that Derek Michael Chauvin, 44, has a camera focused on him all day and and cops check on his cell in person every 15 minutes.

It adds that Chauvin, who was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter on Friday, is under constant surveillance and is in isolation in Ramsey County Jail in St. Paul, Minnesota.

It means that I had a rather unusual experience in a little country courthouse where the trial was about 2 Bubbas who got into a shouting match in the local 7-11 with their former employer and when the police were called this hot shot cop shows up and escalates the situation and their mama shows up and the Bubbas got arrested. Oh, and a normal cop came for backup and tried to calm things down.

It's the kind of courthouse where the Confederate flag flies in the front and there's a copy of the 10 Commandments that dates probably to the 1940s, painted by some local in red paint on cotton, hanging right outside the courtroom.

I was surprised at being seated on the jury at all, especially after being called forward to the Bench over the 12 Step Meeting, to hear the judge say that I could take my seat back in the jury box.

DC has told quite a few people to Fuck You recently, so I thought it had become acceptable, but I guess not for some of us.

And I'm careful not to say that, as Psych is still furious that I said it to him about 10-12 years ago when he had persecuted an old man in failing health on a daily basis and even given out that old man's personal details to other posters so they could dox him.
