Not sure how you get beans that color. Otherwise it looks pretty tasty.

why'd yall go do creekside?
ousdahl wrote: Sat Jun 06, 2020 9:58 pm so there's here's two parts to the Crooked Creek experience:

there's "creekside," which is this kind of respectable sit down restaurant for y'all, and where those fancy ass tk countertops are installed.

and there's "saloon side," this legit old timey saloon with wooden bars and wooden floors and a pool table and juke box too. This is the side you should go, where the locals hang, and where the legend of Rosie lives on...

1. Olive Garden
I mean, I haven't included Olive Garden on any of my lists because it is assumed to be no. 1 for every single one of them.

I buy Olive Garden dressing and croutons from the grocery store all the time. Best IMO. And I honestly could eat a bag of croutons in one sitting, but never have.

Pro tip, do NOT walk in the front door of Howie's Pub, don't out yourself as a tourist.
Go through the back and bring cash:

There's a bar like that here ( well, a bar that's all about books ) called....
wait for it....
LFK.

But it's not legit divey - as in, the dive wasn't built naturally, but rather concocted, which voids it as a dive bar for me.

Also, I never understood bars with books, I mean if intended for more than just decor ( and even then ).
I don't go to a bar to read.

I figured some would have a full overlap.
( my favorite bars Andy's and Rosie's have a diveyness to them but I can't full on consider them dives - i.e. Red Lyon in Lawrence is not a dive ).

How do you guys define a bar as a dive bar.
I use vinyl tape on at least 2 bar stools as a prerequisite.

If the walls aren’t an off yellow of nicotine, probably not a dive bar.

Then again, if lights are bright enough to discern that, probably not a dive bar.

Jet lag was only real dive bar I knew if in Lawrence. College bars are disqualified by definition.
