Grandma's 5 Questions of the Day for 6/12/20
Grandma's 5 Questions of the Day for 6/12/20
1) What was the most recent food or beverage you consumed?
2) You (and your family - if you would like to bring them) are invited to a party on the 4th of July. It's at someone's home that you are friends with, they have a pool and a large backyard, and you know there will be at least 100 people there. No guidelines for "social/physical distancing" and masks/face coverings are NOT required - and the invitation actually states they are discouraged. Do you go to the party?
3) Easier to define racism than it is to define if someone is racist.
Define "BLATANT racist" as you choose.
What do you feel is the percentage of Americans who are BLATANT racists?
4) There is a difference between best and favorite. You may choose either ONE.
Who do you feel was/is the BEST President in your life time OR who was/is your FAVORITE President in your lifetime? Please label BEST or FAVORITE.
5) You get a 365 day vacation. You still get your usual salary AND you are given a $250,000 budget.
That budget can be spent however you choose but realize you need "lodging", food, travel, entertainment, and any/all other expenses. You can choose to be in just one of the following places and you may NOT travel more than 200 miles from that place at at time during those 365 days. You must spend at least 20 hours a day 300 days (of those 365 days) with in 20 miles of the city I give you the options for.
Do you choose......
a) Palm Springs California
b) Miami Florida
c) Boulder Colorado
d) Austin Texas
e) New York (Manhattan) New York
f) Washigton D.C.
g) Kansas City Kansas
h) Seattle Washington

Palm Springs
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

2. Nope. Happened a couple weeks ago. Went to see some friends (who have been taking it seriously) hanging out and a carload of other people show up randomly as they were out for a drive. We packed up and left.
3. Hating or discounting a person for no reason other than the color od their skin. 2 percent
4. Ehh, no idea.
5. With a heavy heart and a shitload of medicine to make me not lost my shit in that city i guess i pick Seattle. Friends and family can visit easier. Otherwise i gueas id go boulder or Austin.

1. Coffee
2. no way
3. Anyone who says thinks like “it ain’t racist if it’s true!” or just generally doesn’t think they’re being racist or even have the capacity for racism. Like 10 percent, in certain states closer to half.
4. Obama!
5. any of those but Boulder

1. Water
2. More than likely not. Skipped out on my wife's friends kids birthday party a few weeks ago because they have a smaller house and a decent sized family.
3. Believing that there is a "superior race" and that said race should have control over other races. I'd say that percentage is about 5%.
4. Best in my opinion is FDR. What he did after Great Depression with the New Deals that helped get America back on track and THEN helped lead them through World War 2 against the strongest opposition the US has ever had. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
5. Man I'm tempted to pick Boulder just because I like cooler weather compared to hot weather. But I've been to Boulder once and I hated it. And maybe I'm just becoming a simple man, but KC is the best value. And I don't think it's close. When you factor housing, food, entertainment and all that.

1. Coffee
2. The fact the invitation states they are discouraged is a red flag - i think i'd pass
3. Blatant is open behavior - so outright being vocal about hating another race - 8% - this % includes white people who hate minorities and vice versa
4. Obama - i just wish he weakened the ability of the government to spy/steal information from his people rather than strengthen it - other than that, pretty badass prez
5. New York (Manhattan) New York - The rules say I can live 20 miles outside of city lines so that means I can live in Tarrytown ( 20 miles from NYC - I would have preferred Sleepy Hollow but i think it's just out of bounds ) - i'll put my 250k on a down payment on a 400k-500k house there that needs some work, spend the year with my salary relaxing but also fixing the place up, then sell the shit out of it when the time is right - i'll be far enough out of the city to still have space ( and not be so threatened by covid ) and go to places like Newport Rhode Island or the Catskills. I wouldn't be close enough to be able to take care of my current house but the blowup doll would easily be able to drive up/down to where we could still see each other and take care of both properties....and in the end, probably get 300k out of it and more knowledge about how to fix homes ( considering my 250k plus the flip cost ). This all of course is assuming in this scenario I get my current job back.

My answers....
1) Banana
2) No
3) 6.275%
4) They all sucked and none were my favorite.
5) I don't like Palm Springs (I don't dislike Palm Springs - I'm neutral) and yet I would choose Palm Springs over the other options. I could spend 65 of the 365 days anywhere along the Pacific Coast between San Diego to Santa Barbara.

Thats my favorite beverage. A staple of the Kansan. At least the ones I've known. My wife is not a kansan and makes fun of my love of unsweetened Ice tea. Calls it my health elixir.

I drink at least 32 ounces of unsweetened tea daily. I don't do it for the caffeine or whatever. I think it tastes really good and it's easy to drink on all day. Plus, if you drink the right amount, it's a perfect diuretic. Helps you get hydrated and pee a lot of water and salt out of your system. TMI I know, but I think outside of straight water, tea is the best beverage you can have that is good and healthy for you.

1. Coke & sweet and salty granola bar.
2. Nope
3. 17.5%. Many of that % don't even realize it.
4. I guess young bush is my favorite. I guess I'd also consider him the best, but i couldn't argue why tbh. Obama would be 2nd in both categories for me I suppose.
5. I'd choose Kansas City pre covid19. Good enough golf courses. Allen Fieldhouse and Arrowhead all winter.
