Grandma's 5 Questions for 6/19/20

Post by Deleted User 289 »

1) You come to Chicago. Someone asks you which of the following places you would like them to take you to (and they will pay for it) which do you choose?
a) Wrigley Field for a Cubs game
b) Soldier Field for a Bears game
c) United Center for a Bulls game
d) United Center for a Blackhawks game
e) Boat tour on the river and the lake
f) Symphony Hall for a Chicago Symphony concert
g) Top of the John Hancock for dinner and drinks
h) Street fest with restaurants/bars and live music

2) If someone offered to buy you a $500,000 boat but you had to pay all other expenses (gas, docking, storage, cleaning, maintenance, supplies, licensing, etc.), you could never sell it or rent it out, and you had to keep it for 10 years, would you accept it - yes or no?

3) You can change one of the following things of your physical appearance. Which do you choose?
a) teeth
b) nose
c) eye color
d) taller
e) weigh 20 pounds more

4) Last night was the best meal I have had in months. Without giving it too much thought, WHERE was the best meal you had recently? If you would like to elaborate on what you ate - please do.

5) Did/Does this make you smile and/or laugh - Yes or no?

1. I’d say street fest but without knowing more about the music, I’ll say either Bulls game or symphony. (Fun fact: one of the best meals of my life was street cart tacos in Chicago...)
2. How much is the ongoing cost of such a boat? Plano please confirm
3. more wingspan
4. Popeyes spicy chicken sammich with red beans and rice
5. Lol

1) Weather is a huge factor. I'm going to go with the boat tour. Of course I have done all so I guess I am going with easiest, most peaceful, and pleasant choice for me.
2) No. Too costly.
3) teeth
4) Dinner last night. Mon Ami Gabi. Outstanding bread, outstanding caesar salad, great steak and frites, great profiterole.
5) First view - I laughed. Second view - did nothing for me.

Take what you think is the most it could cost...multiply times 3.

Seriously, I can't believe that people still buy these fucking things.

Ha yup, kinda what I figured.

I’m trying to decide, for the sake of gutter’s question, whether it would be worth just sitting on the boat for 10 years to flip it, or whether the ongoing costs would still make it a bad investment.

Yeah, most successful flips don't occur on an asset that depreciates at 18-20% per year.

Yep, 2 people actually MAKE money on a boat:

The guy who built it

The guy who brokered the sale.

END OF LIST.

Correct. Then, you slowly hemorrhage cash to the point you are divorced and financially ruined.

1. Cubs game I guess. I've never been. Not a big baseball fan.....boat tour of river/lake might be cool too, especially if its the Vince Vaughn boat tour from whatever movie that was from.

2. No because I probably couldn't afford those things required in the stipulations.

3. I guess taller.

4. Local Mexican restaurant take out. We had a taco tray of 12 tacos (4 different kinds: steak, chicken, pastor, carnitas), dip sampler: chips, salsa, guacamole, queso, and their queso/bean dip, and sides of rice and beans. Holy fuck it was amazing. Had it twice in the last 2 weeks.

5. Not really.
