Maybe. Or maybe she withdrew from consideration because she found out she wasn't going to be the eventual pick? Hard to say either way. I don't think she was going to be the pick at this point anyway, it is (was) likely going to be a woman of color.

Yeah, I suppose it's hard to have two people with long political histories on the ticket together. That's a lot of decades of out of context voting records to drag through the muck. Trump will try to turn everything into ammunition so it's probably good to limit that together.

I do think in this situation the current social climate is playing a big part in it...but i don't think that's necessarily a "bad" thing though. It is just reality. It is also reality that it is LONG overdue. A woman president is also long overdue. Both will happen in the next decade or so I am almost certain.

I will say, that Biden won't get any praise from me for making it happen. "The people" behind the movement deserve the praise. It feels like some tangible change is beginning to happen, but this is just the beginning. It will take generations for the work to be anywhere close to complete.

The fact that almost all major party presidential tickets have been filled by white males is a strong indicator that race and sex have always been important factors in choosing a running mate. So why is it you only care in this instance? I don't remember you ever posting about this in the past.

I don't "only care only in this instance" -- not sure where you came to that conclusion. If the best candidate happens to be a woman, then great. My point is, a job should be chosen on merit and who is the best person for the job. I had no issue with Clinton being a woman, but rather, she was as corrupt as they come. Obama won because he appeared to be the best candidate -- same with Trump. The main point I'm making here is that if you are about to go under for a life-threatening surgery, are you going to ask if the team of surgeons are "diverse" or are you going to be more interested if they do their job well? The fact we have had more men presidents is just a natural thing in nature -- men tend to thrive in leadership roles.
