Near the beginning in the US, a euro-strain was on the East coast and a Wuhan strain was on the West. I don't know what today's virus looks like.

No, because you are taking them out across the board. NYC still has many new cases. It’s closer to normalizing the outliers to see how 99% of the country was affected outside of nyc. This isn’t about just dropping the initial curve.
