I think the Steelers will have a better record than the Titans.
Steelers went 8-8 with Mason Rudolph.

I don’t think that prediction is right.

I do think the Chiefs will have a better record than both though.

Chris Jones threatening to hold out - can't play for 16.1 million a year - then referenced LeVeon Bell, who tried the same thing, and lost around 15 million for doing so ( and landed a contract similar to the one the Steelers were originally offering ).

Also LeVeon was already tagged the previous year.
Chiefs could tag Jones again and he'd have to decide if he wanted to sit out 2 years.

Love what CJ brings to the table on the football side of things and he is or would be a key reason why a repeat is possible but that dude needs some new business representation. I don't know 98% of the NFLPA rules and regulations but he could be potentially playing himself for two years in a row. Unfortunately for him the Chiefs hold all the leverage and other than being a huge distraction during training camp and the season like you mentioned he would have to decide if he really wants to hold out.

At times he is the best DT not named Donald and while he has gotten better playing the run is not his strong suit nor one of desires. With all of the money coming up to Mahomes and the what has happened in the past with Chiefs defensive players getting long term deals I could see the brass being very reluctant to giving Jones what he wants. How this ends I have no idea but I have a feeling it will be another franchise tag, he makes 16.1 million and could sit out until week 10.

If he sits out til week 10, he won't make 16.1 million though, right?
He'd loose something like 9 of that.

That much I am not sure because there would have to be penalties of some sort for voluntarily sitting out. I understand that Jones want a long term deal but with everything going on right now and no idea on the cap situation for next year it might not be a bad idea to take the guaranteed 16 million, play it out for another year and then hopefully cash out on the open market.

NFL going to announce by tomorrow at latest that week 1 and week 4 of preseason is going to be scrapped.

Matter of time. There shouldn't be 4 preseason games anyway, but add in what's going on, doesn't make any sense for their to be any more games.

To be honest, add in what's going on now and I am not sure it makes sense to have football at all but I hope they figure out a way to do it. There's a lot of regular folks who are employed by NFL teams and we could all use some sports to distract us from the rest of the goings on in the world. It will take a ton of precautions and testing.

The regular folks employed by NFL teams should not be affected. I'm not saying they won't, but they absolutely should not be.

A distraction would be nice, but of course there are other priorities. If you can get it off the ground without a lot of collateral damage, then fine.

Football Literally ends in some sort of wrestling match for each play, not to mention the 4-5 other potential wrestling matches that go on between the tackles. It’s ludicrous to think it would be ok to engage in this type of sport with this type of contagion about.

But, we want normal!

As for CFB, we all recall going through the stages of grief and (ir)rationalizing with the NCAA tournament.

Think CFB is in for the same. It's July 2--I don't see how the hell they get that off the ground until like after the potential Super Bowl.

It would be prudent to follow the Ivy's lead and just punt to the Spring. Better to have >50% certainty of >50% revenue than the inverses.

Agreed. Wouldnt surprise me at all to see it be what happens. But it may take the state of South Carolina or Alabama or Louisiana etc... simply shutting down their school's big time football program to do it since the ncaa doesn't seem to be able to act in the best interest of their member organizations.

The smaller size of a basketball roster and the test run by the NBA coming soon makes me feel a little more optimistic that we may see some sort of college hoops but putting kids on a campus full of kids from all over the country and beyond is the polar opposite of putting them in a bubble on a Disney resort.

I am bracing for no sports I care about through 2020. And with the EU banning US travelers, I worry that the IOC might ban competitors from the US if they still choose to have an Olympics next year and this isnt under control here by then.

Yup.
Without a vaccine or a miraculous disappearance from the virus, I put college sports odds of happening this year at best, 10-1.

I mean - we're now two weeks out from ridiculous death totals in Florida and Texas. If Florida and Texas are out, there's no college football.

Obvious caveat is that Olympics are over a year away.

Several Asian countries were the first to ban American visitors long before the EU. But, I just tend to think that if the IOC justifies having an Olympics then they will justify inviting the US, the country that is always #1 or 2 in both medal count and TV ratings. Just too much politics and money at play.

A lot can change in a year, both for the better and for the worse. I sure didn't see 2020 looking like this back in 2019. Just worrying a lot these days.

Would you rather:

a. a full NFL season and a cancelled NCAABB season

b. a cancelled NFL season and a NCAABB season in which KU was banned from the NCAA tourney and Self had to sit out of half of

I mean you're asking this on a board to where most are going to say B. Just get the punishment out of the way if it's going to happen. Don't delay it.

But I think the general consensus among sports fans would be A.
