I haven't paid a ton of attention, but even on Lobster's biased videos, it seems like they were almost waiting for the protestors to show up.

A few things to give context to that terribly edited image. One, Delmar is truly a unique street. You have mansions south, and burnt out houses to the north. It's no jokes, the "wrong side of the tracks" trope. When I moved to St. Louis, I was told never to go north of Delmar because I would be shot. St. Louis is a very, very divided city in many ways, including race. Coming from Philly, I was sickened how locals talked about North of Delmar.

To answer your question about the $47k, a good chunk of the CWE (blue area) is Barnes-Jewish and Washington University grad students. Probably close to 50% or more. It's a more posh area, with boutique dining and shopping. My guess is a lot of those students report income of some sort, which drags down the number. I would guess the average income of non-student residents is well over $80-90k.

Also, the Karen couple don't even live in the blue area, but on the other side of Kingshighway. If you really wanted to see the income dispencies, between Kingshighway and Skinker. I bet the houses there average over a million and incomes over $200k, then north of Delmar probably about the same. But you would lose some of the racial segregation, as non-grads students live in that area as well, which are largely white.

I've never seen anything like this. Groups of people walking on my sidewalk, I better get my guns. Minor traffic issue, better pull my gun. Pre-emptively threaten protestors that you'll deputize gun owners. None of it makes any sense. In what world do you defend your grass or your bumper with deadly force? When did that become something people thought they should defend? We used to just call people who pulled their guns on someone for no reason crazy...now we pretend like it's ok because they were scared.

And at no point did someone say to me afterward, hey man, you should have brandished a firearm and threatened to kill that guy who let his dog shit in your yard and just left the turd there, you gotta protect your property man.

Right, If I'm afraid of people out on my sidewalk, I probably start by locking my doors and windows. If it gets worse, probably call the police.

Arguments, not too mention fights. Bar fights, college fights, sports fights. I mean, you get mad, you fight if thats where it goes. You win or you lose and you move on.

I am convinced this is the result of all of the FoxNews/NRA brainwashing that is going on. Painting all protestors as "angry mobs coming to kill you" results in irrational reactions such as this. Painting all immigrants and black people as violent criminals. Painting all democrats as loony country hating socialists. It's a messaging war of fear that is driving otherwise "normal" people to behave in very abnormal manners.

Trump isn't the only one spouting dangerous rhetoric; it is splashed all over nearly every "news" source that folks like this are ingesting. It's insanity.

Feel free to offer up an explanation as to why a couple of fat old white people decided to charge out into their lawns weilding guns at people who were marching past their house. Truthfully, I find myself at a complete loss to understand a lot of the reasoning behind the behavior like this the last 4 years.

People are out protesting that they have a "constitutional right to wear whatever they want" so they don't have to wear face masks to help keep people safe and get our country back up and running.

I guarantee that if a group of LGBTQ supporters marched down the street wearing see-through outfits that they'd reverse course and scream about how the government should pass laws to protect t them from having to see this because those people don't have the constitutional right to "wear whatever they want".

It's lunacy.
