At one point, was under contract for 12 years.
Andy Reid likes to lock up QBs I guess.

Pat has surrounded himself with an outstanding group of advisors and consultants.

Worth every red nickel. Once this disease BS blows over I could the Chiefs heavily investing in the sacred acre. Hotels, restaurants, and bars. With Mahomes around for 12 years the Chiefs suddenly just became the hottest ticket and attraction in the Midwest.

Bobby Bonilla's contract will still be going when Patrick is a free agent.

Bobby Bonilla day was last week. That shit is crazy.

Good on the Chiefs for getting this done. That dude is just good and seems like an awesome awesome teammate and person.

Chiefs with limited capacity. Number not announced.

Ravens won't have more than 14,000 in their stadium for home games.

At this point, if football is played, wouldn't be surprised if it's on practice fields at a team's facility.

Don't think football games will be happening in NFL stadiums. We're just over 2 months away from schedule season opener. And shit still hasn't been figured out.

Stadiums are wired for press and cameras, and the angles wouldn't be right at a practice facility. Plus player amenities like locker rooms and medical facilities, plus post-game stuff. An NFL stadium is huge and can help spread out everything as well, and is open air.

Chris Jones is back for quite a bit of money - BUT if you look at what Frank Clark is getting, he'd have to get this to stay. Now you gotta think about building through the draft for the next few years with these big contracts on the books.

https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/ ... es/9660216

"Chiefs re-signed DT Chris Jones to a four-year, $85 million contract.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the deal includes $60 million guaranteed at signing. Jones initially seemed an unlikely candidate for a long-term deal, but Patrick Mahomes' creative extension paved the way for the Chiefs to keep their interior force on the defensive side of the ball. Jones also achieved his goal of reaching $20 million-plus in average annual value. Headed into his age-26 campaign, Jones is one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in football. He has 33 sacks in four years, 24.5 of which have come over the past two seasons. The Chiefs have all the pieces in place to make another run at Lombardi in 2020."

This contract ends right when Mahomes' numbers get big. Wonder how that happened.

Yeah Fish, you're right. He gets his money, but will likely be gone when Mahomes has the big money starting to happen.

But this is outstanding news. Chiefs know exactly what they have with the cap now for the next 4 years. Veach and Co have shown a really good understanding of drafting well and getting good FAs that fit the system.

Veach is hitting home runs right now. I'm sure it certainly helps that you have the 'it' coach and the face of the NFL as well but they are doing everything they can to show they will be all in for as long as Mahomes is here. I freaking love it!
