Not really in the NBA but still noteworthy.
50 points for Mario

Just shows how good he still is. And also how hard it is to make it in the nba.

I assume you are being serious.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:47 am Just shows how good he still is. And also how hard it is to make it in the nba.
Let's be honest here. He was playing 3 on 3 against pretty much garbage.
Nate Robinson, Derrick Byars, Eddie Basden, Will Bynum, and Eddy Curry are hardly 2020 NBA material.
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
I was being serious....it isnt so much about who he was playing...it is that a few years ago he was starting on an nba team and now he cant even make a roster, but he is still capable of playing high quality basketball.Grandma wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:08 amI assume you are being serious.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:47 am Just shows how good he still is. I wasnt taking his 50pts to mean he should be starting in the nba and being an all star....just that he is still very good and cant even get a chance.

Rio is 34 years old coming off a ruptured achilles. That's as deep as anyone needs to look into it.

You said, "just shows how good he still is". I feel it really doesn't.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:12 amI was being serious....it isnt so much about who he was playing...it is that a few years ago he was starting on an nba team and now he cant even make a roster, but he is still capable of playing high quality basketball.Grandma wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:08 amI assume you are being serious.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:47 am Just shows how good he still is. When Jordan McRae, Pierre Jackson, Dar Tucker, Manny Harris, Morris Almond, Will Conroy, Osiris Eldridge, and Kenny Hayes scored over 50 in "G" League games my first thoughts were not how good they are.
Seems like it was just yesterday. Ok, maybe not.

I beg to differ. I feel it's justifiable for people to look a bit deeper.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 9:22 am Rio is 34 years old coming off a ruptured achilles. That's as deep as anyone needs to look into it.
"coming off" a ruptured achilles? He injured his achilles in 2016. It's 2020.
In 2017/2018 he played 66 NBA games after he reputed his achilles. Right?
So.... I'm being serious in asking these questions - Why isn't he on an NBA roster today? Because of his age? I'm no NBA expert/guru but I would think Mario has to be as good as other guys who sit on the end of benches. Is he not?

Probably/maybe the best site to get some input in to the thinking/logic regarding Mario and reading what he has to say.
I feel someone should give him an NBA job. What do they have to lose in doing it?

Signing Mario does seem like a shrewd LeBron move. It's never materialized--leads you to think Mario is probably just done. A SG in a semi-broken 34-year-old PG body.
Re: Jawhawks in the NBA
Yeah. It’s like the issues you mention would make Lebron paradoxically more likely to do it.
He’s in the convo for GOAT player, not gm.
