LOL worthy that someone with a 90% poli-board posting history claims anyone makes the basketball board insufferable. If your primary posting area is politics you don't get the privilege of calling the sports threads anything negative because the entire poli-board is insufferable.

Although I might not post on the basketball board a lot, I do read it a lot. But unlike you, if I have nothing to contribute, I don't always default to posting something anyway...over and over and over again. As I've said before, I feel sorry for you. I think a lot of people at .net were mean to you on the basketball board. I sometimes used to avoid the bb forum at .net because it got so old reading your endless drivel, followed by the endless responses to your drivel by the pack of jackals following you around, for sport. As I've also said before, you seem like a nice guy who is oblivious to how lame your posts here are. You seem to know something about golf and basketball, why not go post on threads related to subjects you know something about, rather than post here where you obviously know little to nothing about the subjects at hand?

I'm hopeful that if I make the politics threads unreadable that all of the "politics only" posters will go away and find a politics focused message board...that way maybe all of the good sports focused posters that you guys have ran out of town (it's a long list) will decide to come back and contribute to the sports threads.

Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney said that's when one of his officers "encountered a subject with a gun" and shot him, according to a statement given to the media.

But the "subject" was Roberson, not the suspect in the bar shooting.

Witnesses say Roberson was wearing his uniform, including a hat emblazoned with the word "security," and was holding a firearm he was licensed to carry...

"Everybody was screaming out 'Security!' " Harris told WGN. "And they still did their job, and saw a black man with a gun, and basically killed him."

In a statement released late Tuesday night, the Illinois State Police said that according to witness statements, an officer from the nearby village of Midlothian gave Roberson "multiple verbal commands to drop the gun and get on the ground before ultimately discharging his weapon and striking the subject."

The agency said Roberson was in "plain black clothing with no markings readily identifying him as a Security Guard."

That contradicts what multiple people who said they witnessed the shooting told the media.

Jakia Woods lives in a house adjacent to Manny's parking lot. She said officers already on the scene had asked Roberson to release the suspect, and Roberson was complying, when another officer came through the bar's back door.

"Before [Roberson] could get up off of him, the officer comes flying out this door gun up," Woods said Tuesday afternoon while standing on her porch. "He says 'get on the ground,' and before he says 'ground' he fires the first shot."

"Everybody is screaming and hollering," she said. "Even the officers were screaming and hollering. 'He's one of us. He's one of us. He's a security guard. He works here.' "

Witness Adam Harris told WGN-TV he saw the same thing. "Everybody is screaming out, 'He's a security guard,' " Harris said.

Reached late Tuesday night, Woods said investigators had not attempted to interview her. The Illinois State Police did not respond to multiple calls for comment late Tuesday.

Four other people were shot and left with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Attorney Gregory Kulis filed a civil rights lawsuit seeking more than $1 million on behalf of Roberson's mother, Beatrice Roberson. He said Jemel Roberson was wearing a hat with the word "security" when he was shot...

I’m wondering if certain facts can be proved as evidence, such as whether he was wearing a security hat?

Also, a lot will depend on how each cop’s testimony breaks down. Will one or more corroborate that the security guard was complying? Or will they claim they all feared for their lives and their only hope rested in the one cop who arrived later and came in blasting?

One would hope that a real investigation will occur. But unfortunately many cases like these end as soon as a cop says they felt they were threatened. It's why I would never legally carry a weapon in public, especially if I was a black male. The risk is not even close to the possible reward.
