The RNC not adopting a platform is the wildest thing so far. They are just all in, “vote for trump because he’s not Biden.” They have nothing else.

Everything about this is going to be a shitshow.

Obviously the lineup is cringeworthy, and notable mostly for (1) all of the Trumps, and (2) who is not present.

And the abandonment of a vote on a platform just confirms that the party is now the party of Trumpism, not of traditional ideologies like small government, moral leadership, personal freedom/responsibility, institutional integrity, etc.

And of course the reason for that is that Trump is distinctly not a conservative.

Back to the shitshow. It just tickles me that Trump's response to the DNC production - which was thoughtfully organized, carefully trimmed (quite YouTube-friendly) and on message - is, characteristically, to do the opposite just because.

Doing most/all live is just going to result in a runny, briny airing-of-white-male-grievances and magic word (Benghazi! Emails! Deep State!) invocation.

Honestly, I'd prep a bingo card and make a drinking game of it, but even my well-trained liver wouldn't hold up.

He criticized the dems convention for being dark and angry. I have a feeling we haven't seen dark and angry yet.

And howsabout this pile of shit:

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/media/trum ... ng-for-you

A few things stand out:

"Create 10 Million New Jobs in 10 Months" - this is one of those "goals" you set that you know you can hit. Of course, the reason you know you can hit it is because of all the jobs lost due to the pandemic you made far worse than it had to be.

"Develop a Vaccine by The End Of 2020" - should not be an agenda item! Putting a deadline on this will not help anything.

"Return to Normal in 2021" - mmhmm, ok.

"No Federal Contracts for Companies who Outsource to China" - literally impossible.

"Protect Social Security and Medicare" - your plan, idiots, is to rob these things to pay for a stupid payroll tax cut.

"Teach American Exceptionalism" - wut?

"Prosecute Drive-By Shootings as Acts of Domestic Terrorism" - this is objectively terrifying. Federalizing law enforcement. Completely antithetical with what used to be regarded as conservatism.

"Dismantle Human Trafficking Networks" - open appeal to Q

"Launch Space Force, Establish Permanent Manned Presence on The Moon and Send the First Manned Mission to Mars" - lol

Ah, that's the one. 16,300 KCrim points for you.

Unfortunately, in a pandemic, those 16,300 are worth 0. I’ll check the market in 2021 to see if I can redeem.

This is going to be four nights of that one creepy meeting Trump had where he made everyone around the table take turns saying nice things about him to him.
